Millions of people are being urged to be careful as temperatures soar across Canada. Touria Izri explains how the heat and wildfires can be a dangerous combination, what people in one city are being advised to do to avoid straining hospitals, and the heat's potential long-term consequences on the health-care system.

With Canada fighting a record-high number of wildfires, the federal government is being urged to remove obstacles so that Indigenous communities can help. Heather Yourex-West explains how cultural burning practices could help mitigate Canada's future fire risk.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko says Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, who led a brief mutiny against the Kremlin, is back on Russian soil after being exiled to Belarus. Redmond Shannon reports on the skepticism over Prigozhin's safety.

Plus, the tight-knit community of Lac-Mégantic, Que. is reflecting on 10 years since the rail disaster that killed 47 people and devastated the heart of the town. Dan Spector looks at how residents marked the day and how the tragedy still haunts some people.

And, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most successful and expensive fertility treatments for prospective parents. Katherine Ward explains how the time of year when eggs are collected could influence the outcome, according to new research.

If you find yourself in a heatwave this summer without any air conditioning. Move into a grocery store and if they ask why you are just sitting in the store. Say you are a dairy spy

I don’t see the financial benefit of billions of dollars of government investment in the battery plants. Did I understand it correctly when they said the jobs created to investment ratio is 1 to $6 million?

Remember that while it is hot outside don’t set your thermostat super low. The higher the temperature difference between the outside and inside the harder your AC will need to work. So set it to something that is comfortable or maybe slightly warmer than comfortable to safe energy and avoid causing excess strain on the power grid

We can take a lesson from these indigenous forest management methods. We could also ban wood products coming from China and get our timber industry back to how it was 40 years ago. There were thousands of small saw mills. We practiced clear cutting and selective cutting. There were furniture builders in every province. Now we complain about the results and blame it on the climate.

But how will we reduce our carbon emissions footprint if we don’t suffer directly during this climate change catastrophe

It's an El Nino year guys. Relax, it's supposed be hot. And I don't appreciate the alarmism. Next: Forest Mismanagement. Clearly a white man's game. We should have never diverged from the Native peoples stewardship of the forest.

Lol. It's about time we got some heat. It's July and you can count on one hand how many hot days we've had. It's summer time folks. When I was young we'd be swimming in may.

We've had summers for centuries. I think we know what do do when it is hot outside. It's not like hot weather is anything new.

We wouldnt want to overload the power grid...Like electric vehicles would if there were 1.5 million in the province instead of EV is a joke when we already suffer from brown outs the last 12 yrs
