LinkedIn Profile Tips: Writing Your Summary

This video is about writing an effective summary for your LinkedIn profile.
Does your profile reflect your passion? If not, you’re missing a huge opportunity to make you and your company stand out on LinkedIn.
For those of you who are looking to use LinkedIn for lead generation, there are 45 million profile views taking place on LinkedIn every day. It is the #1 activity on LinkedIn.
You can be the most active blogger and group activist, and message 500 people per day but if your profile reads like a boring CV then the chances are you won’t get many leads. Your Profile is your “mini” website, use it.
Here are 7 “hot” tips…
1. Write your summary in 1st person – give a strong “why”, as a wise man once told me “vulnerability is power” – thank you Gilbert Francois
2. Utilise video on your LinkedIn Profile, let the video do the talking – I highly recommend speaking to Kristian Curcio from Lick Media, they offer cost-effective, high quality solutions.
3. Get recommendation and endorsements – give and you shall receive
4. Contribute - Not only on posts and comments but through showcasing volunteer activities, causes that you care about, associations that you’re a member of, companies that you support
5. Become a publisher - start defining your brand
6. Build an awesome company page - if you don’t already have one and post regular content – make it personable
7. Have fun with it – there are no rules that say you can’t rearrange your Profile, or that you need to have your job title as your Headline, maybe it should be more like my reply to the boy on the tram
