Top 5 LinkedIn Profile Tips!

In this video, I share my top 5 tips for creating an amazing LinkedIn profile! These profile tips range from how to have a professional looking profile photo and LinkedIn background banner (using free tools) to how best to complement your resume with your LinkedIn profile.

I also show you how I optimize my LinkedIn account: what to put in the “About” summary section, what to write in your experiences section, and how to get your own LinkedIn custom URL. Nowadays, having a professional, relevant, and searchable LinkedIn profile is more important than ever.

Instead of staying high level (aka vague), I dive into my own LinkedIn profile and show examples of other great profiles and walk you through step by step on how to create a similar look and feel, while highlighting your own character and professional experiences.

Great tips here! One way I like to personalize my LinkedIn profile is to customize/design my own background image. I include things that people may not generally see in my actual profile.

First few minutes of the first video of yours I was watching seemed a little too corporate/generic but there are so many useful tips in these videos. I'm coming from years in an industry abroad where LinkedIn is not a thing and it's all about archaic job posting sites and networking, so getting my LinkedIn and resume back up to snuff for an American job market has been daunting.

What are your thoughts on this: I have a short three minute video about myself from my previous job. It goes into my past life as an athlete and how that correlates into the workplace now, basically. How do I weave that into a message to connect type of thing… I feel like I need some thing to stand out and not get lost in the mix… Especially with these huge huge tech companies where I live.
