This is my moms exact chocolate frosting recipe. I’ve never met anyone whom didn’t love it. I use it now too mainly because it’s so easy and doesn’t have to be exact. You can alter its consistency w more/less milk and put more/less cocoa to taste. I buy a simple $1.25 boxed devils food Choc cake to frost it on and it’s good to go! The best part is most people w a decently stocked kitchen will always have the ingredients on hand.

Ingredients from the website:

⅔ cup cocoa powder
½ cup salted butter, melted
3 cups confectioners' sugar
5 to 7 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whisk cocoa powder and warm melted butter together in a large bowl; let sit for 2 minutes.

Add confectioners sugar, 5 tablespoons milk, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until well blended, smooth, and creamy, about 2 minutes, adding more milk as needed to get to desired consistency.
