Over 50 years old and in my opinion one of the best looking films ever made, visually stunning.

2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the best films ever made and a true masterpiece! This movie was way ahead of time. Made in the mid 60's with so many bizarre elements. They don't make movies like this anymore.

I always wondered why she didn't just walk through the door to the left. . . then I realized that she's wearing velcro shoes and trying to orient herself to the cockpit's orientation.

It's a striking scene, but in reality, she'd probably just float through.

The pilots are in a horizontal position and not in an upside down position. The stewardess should have moved herself to a horizontal position.

This is the cheesiest part of the movie. The perfectionist Kubrick used the daft velcro shoes concept to sell the rotating shift gag (sfx meaning) rather than wirework and some optical matting to hide the wires.

This is the problem with "2001" -when it all takes a break and turns into a Disneyland Epcot demonstration of things we will have in the future, that doesn't advance the plot at all.
