well Dell S2721DGFA service menu opens after this : turn off power button, then push 1 and 3 buttons together, then without releasing them turn on power button, then push last button and blue menu should appear, power button light should turn on and off if you enable service menu, interesting what FS2 and MAX settings mean, first goes as high as 844, second 255, i think they control HDR maximum brighness levels

Worked on my Dell U2518D. To display service menu connect DP/HDMI and turn on PC.
1. Turn off montor.
2. Press both the first button and the second button on left at same time, and then press the power button
3. Let go of all buttons.
4. Press the fiist button on left.

To display diagnostics (burnin). Disconnect signal cable or turn off PC then perform same procedure.

By the way, if you held the first (left or topmost) two buttons on startup, you are in Service Mode already before you press button 1 to enter the Service Menu, and your monitor will stay in Service Mode until you power-cycle it normally. This disables most OSD (other than menus), including the annoying 5-minute timer before entering Power Save Mode on older Dell monitors, it will just sleep instantly when signal is lost. To keep your monitor in Service Mode, you have to press the two buttons along the Power key on _each_ cold startup - however, there is not much point to not just keep it in standby at the around 0.05 W consumed by the dim LED.
Other people reported that turning off "ESLogo" in Service Menu will disable the timer persistently but that didn't work on my monitor (P2412h). Another option to get rid of the wait is to turn on Energy Smart Mode, but that also enabled the annoying automatic backlight intensity, which can be mitigated by setting the backlight to 0 anyway, or maybe (untested!) turning off dynamic contrast "DCR" in the service menu if the monitor has that option.

Have you run across a Dell monitor (ST2410b) that, when plugged in, connected to a good PC, the screen only comes on briefly, and a kind of electrical burning (no smoke or flames - not that cool!)? But a noticeable electronics burning smell? What component could cause this? I have not opened the monitor up. Thank you 🤓

that was super helpful, however why there is almost zero info on the different selections on that menu, on top of that they really differ from model to model, some selections are so strange and does not represent anything standard, hope u can mention some of them, thanks

Hi - This is helpful. Do you know if the monitor is factory reset - does it also reset the timer?

Got an old Dell E207WFPc monitor that shows kind of blurred vertical, contrasted lines from top to bottom, especially in dark backgrounds. They are across the entire screen at random spacings, and some wider than others. In different terms, the blurry vertical lines appear slightly lighter than the black background—kind of grayish. On an orange background, they appear as a lighter orange tint but are harder to see. Any ideas on the problem?

Thanks, works as described on SE2219H. Had it for a while and there was some burnin (the burn in mode seemed to fix it). Is 2266H a good time? Also does it count up while in stand-by (I usually leave it in standby as the power button is quite a bit recessed compared to the menu buttons and harder to press, so when I turn off my computer, I just let it go to standby).

I have a U2721DE. It keeps cycling the RBG colors and I can't get to the settings screen. I've plugged and unplugged the HDMI and plugged/unplugged the display.
