Thrustmaster Pedal Problem - Solution and Fix

Dave Blair has been the headliner at the newly created "The Simpit Crew" Channel with a lot of racing videos. Dave recently was having problems with his Thrustmaster pedals. This video shows the issue he was having and how he went about upgrading and fixing these pedals.

With the t3pa if you just press the pedal for a second after every time you reconnect the wheel or reboot it works fine. I think it just needs to recalibrate the full range because of the conical mod.

I have the T3pa set as well. There's a treshold in the amount you can move the brake pedal forward. When calibrating the system needs to know if the mod is installed or not. With to little travel of the pedal the system can't get a good calibration and shoots from 50% to 100%. If the travel is to far with the mod on, the system calibrates the brakes as used without the mod, and cannot reach 100% because the pedal doesn't move far enough with the mod.
I had the first situation with the MOD as well. Just give the brake pedal a little more travel. Power up the wheel and don't touch the wheel or pedals during the start up fase. Start the game and press the brake pedal as far as you can and let go. Do this 3 or 4 times. You will see the pedal will recalibrate correctly and goes from 0% to 100% without a jump from 50% to 100%

On T3PA you just need to press brake once fully to 100% so it calibrates brake pedal correct way. Thats why it stopped for you at 50%. And that have to be done everytime you plug wheel/pedals to your PC or console. I sometimes forget to do that calibration, car brakes only at 50% power and here we go out of track at first brakeing point :D

Thats just the way they calibrate themselves, they need a good initial amount as you show in the video to reach full, but after that they operate smooth

I get a similar issue to what your original pedals problem was but after pressing on it real hard 2 or 3 times it stops almost like the rubber needs to warm up and get a little movement in it.

I just bought a Thrustmaster Ferrari and the pedals do not work at all for some reason. Idk if it's a connection issue or what

I found that out the hard way about the T3PA’s. That is just how they work. You really have to get down on them initially to calibrate them.

“Once the wheel has self calibrated and the game has started, the pedals automatically calibrate themselves after being pressed a few times. Never press on the pedals when the wheel is self calibrating or when your game is starting up, to avoid calibration problems.” - t3pa_user_manual.pdf

Mine won’t register in racing wheel mod solid red.
One pedal works: left one but the right doesn’t do you know how to fix it.

Warning for those using conical BM. I have TP3A Pro pedals setup GT and was using the CBM. Over time, I developed plantar plants feshcitis due to repeatedly braking with very hard brake pressure. Purchased Richmotec load cell which allows for much lower (normal) brake pressure. Plantar fasciitis all gone now :)

No need to buy the t3pa pro pedals. The fix is to press the brake peddle hard when the wheel is calibrating. Then it calibrated your peddles just right. You can invert them as well, just like with the pro, just to make them more realistic.
