In today's video, Marvin from Medicare School is giving you a DEEP DIVE explanation of Medigap Plan N vs Medigap Plan G.

Having a Medigap plan to supplement your Medicare is obviously very important, but equally as important as having a Medigap plan, is making sure you have the best supplemental plan for you! Plan N and Plan G supplemental plans have their benefits and of course, their differentiations, and the best plan (or Advantage Plan) will differ from person to person.

There's so much conflicting and confusing information around medicare plans as well as supplemental Medigap plans, it's not shocking how unsure it makes people when they're feeling rushed to choose the proper plan(s).

This video will discuss Plan G vs Plan N Medicare Supplement and if it's the right choice for you, as well as how best to decide if you need Medigap and which Medigap plan to get.

So let's get into determining which is better for you, Medigap plan n vs g?

We just went with a plan N. We live in a state that does not allow excess charges and, even if we were in a state that does allow them, they are so rare that we would not worry about them. Also, the rates go up way slower than the G plan. We are very happy with our choice. The Medicare School agent that helped us with setting up the plan was wonderful!

You have explained this so well ! I tell my friends, "Medicare is the sex talk our parents never had with us ! You have to stumble your way through and you get a different answer from everyone you ask !" LOL

Thanks for the video. I opted for the "N Plus" plan offered by BCBS in Illinois. Includes vision, dental and hearing coverage. I never hear about these plans being offered on YouTube. I think it combines the benefits of both Advantage and Gap plans.

Thank you for these videos! I have been so confused about Medicare and Advantage plans. You have helped me decide to sign up for a G plan and not an advantage plan. Keep up the great videos and I am so happy that I found you.

The premium savings of $30/month in the N plan is equal in co-pay value of 18 doctor visits per year. My opinion... N is the winner!

Enjoyed this video. One thing I struggled with is deciding to take a select plan or the regular Plan G. I opted for the select plan because all large hospitals in my state are covered. I was told that if I should need to go JT of state I could change to the regular Plan G at the beginning of each month, but I would never be allowed to go back to the select option.

I opted for select plan because it dropped my premium significantly, and my dentist is a “preferred” provider so my I didn’t have to worry about the copay.

My husband will be going on Medicare in two years. So still trying to evaluate those changes. Unfortunately, I became “disabled”. Also found out I would be on Medicare, but several companies would not sell me a supplemental plan.

I've worked in healthcare for 45 yrs including training billing and managing clinics that treats Medicare patients. I'd to congratulate you on your thorough explanation of the sometimes "horrors" of Medicare. Well done.

No, I do not utilize or recommend Advantage Plans since I like working "with" my physicians regarding my healthcare. As a Microbiologist I am very familiar with diagnostic services, treatment and ongoing problems, if any, of complications. I find that it's often necessary to go out of "Network" for healthcare services and I prefer to chose my physicians and the card plan. I don't like a non-medical person determining my providers or care plan. Thank you for the information that so many patients do not receive during Medicare plan election.

Good video ... but ... The rate difference between G& N in larger than $20 in the states my agency works in ... He didn't discuss the VERY LOW # of times an Excess Charge is even submitted. Doctors pay more in fess to chase seniors for the extra money than they ever recover. Also left out was the vast "rate increase" difference / percentage between G & N.
