Curious about your Medicare options? In today's video by Marvin Musick from Medicare School, you'll uncover the key differences between Medicare Plan G and Plan N. Discover the benefits of both plans that allow you to choose from a wide range of healthcare providers, eliminating the hassle of pre-authorizations and providing lifelong coverage security.

Plus, both plans come with a unique foreign travel emergency benefit, giving you peace of mind even when you're abroad!

Marvin dives deep into the details of the coverage nuances. Plan G steps up with comprehensive coverage, addressing five out of six Medicare gaps, including deductibles, hospital co-pays after 60 days, skilled nursing facility co-pays, and more.

It even covers excess charges added by specific doctors. On the other hand, Plan N offers four out of six Medicare gaps coverage, and while it comes with some small co-pays for doctor and emergency room visits, its slightly lower premium might catch your attention.

Whether you're leaning towards robust coverage or cost-efficiency, this video holds the insights you need to make an informed choice before annual enrollment!

Plan N is tough in California because it’s so expensive. I love my Plan N. I was fortunate enough to be able to switch out of an Advantage plan. Thanks for the great information!

I am 6 months out from starting Medicare in 2024 and have been researching G vs N plans. I found one video where the long term costs of G and N plans are discussed, not just their initial cost and the smaller difference at inception. This was eye opening because the long term cost of the N plan became much lower, $100 or more per month less than G plan for people in their later 70s early 80s. In NJ where I live, the G plan starts out about $42 per month more. I really wish this channel would do a long term cost comparison of G vs. N plans as I'd like to hear more about this. $30 a month more seems like a no brainer to get the G plan coverage, but if in 10 years it is $130 month more, that is a different story. Especially since many (most?) people can never change plans due to medical rating.

Thanks for making clarity out of mind-numbing confusion. Whew.

Can you do a video analyzing how that $30 difference changes by age? is it $30 at 65 but $60 at 75? What about the co pays will it stay at $20 for the ever what are the factors that can raise it.

I am going with a N plan. Now, another question, is it better to go with a plan based on current age, group age, or age at beginning? Also, how do you find out how big the group your policy is based on is? Seems that a larger group will help in keeping costs down over time. thank you.

Hello, Can you please do a video regarding "G" and "N" Plan Premiums in expensive states like New York State ? The Premiums in NYS are no where near $125 for "G" and $95 for "N". Thank you.

I love your videos. I can't seem to find anyone talking about the difference between Plan N and Plan D. They look the same to me. Maybe there is a reason nobody talks about Plan D. Can you tell me the difference between the two?

If you have any health problems, plan G is the way to go. I live in a 55 plus place and those with medicare advantage are under insured. I ask them can they afford medical bills and they say no. I find it confusing. If you cannot pay your medical bills what do you do, declare bankruptcy? I cannot afford G plan either but i pay for it and do without other things to pay for it. I have always had to pay my bills. I really dont understand. Are hospitals/doctors writing these costs off for those seniors that are underinsured?

Great info. How about talking a little about the drug plans

Do you talk about High-Deductible G plans anywhere? From what I've seen the premium is much lower. But aside from the obvious downside of the higher deductible, I also wonder if it would be hard to switch back to a conventional G plan in the future if I ever changed my mind.

With plan N - much do we pay at doctor visit “before” we pay the deductible please ! I cannot find that answer anywhere

I'm about 6 months away from starting Medicare in 2024, so I am just now starting to really look at all my choices. I think I've pretty much decided that (for me) the G supplement plan is the way to go. However, can you point me to a video you've done that talks about the G plan versus the High Deductible G plan? I think HDG might be a good option for me also and I have watched some videos that others have made, but I'd love to see one that you've made. I looked on your website and don't seem to be finding a video on that subject. Thanks.

Connecticut only disallows the 15% excess charges for those under a certain income level. Your footnote could cause some CT residents to incorrectly analyze their options.

All the resources I have read state the percentage of doctors charging the excess fee is 2 to 3 percent. You are saying that this excess fee is charged by 10 percent of all doctors. What's more, these resources state that 40 percent of those charging excess fees are psychiatrists and podiatrists. Please let us know your source to help us make our best decision. Thanks

Can you cover how rates change with age on G and N? Perhaps in another video?
