Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are infections (mostly bacterial) of the urinary system. UTIs occur more frequently in young women compared to other groups. Due to irritation and inflammation from infective organisms, UTIs have characteristic signs and symptoms. In this lesson, we discuss those signs and symptoms in detail and discuss the reason why they occur.

I really appreciate this video. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy when I was 10 and I've never had seizures within my sleep before while I was sleeping Monday morning. I had two seizures in my sleep and then went to the hospital. I was discharged, went back to sleep and had another seizure in my sleep. We went back to the hospital and the doctor said that I had UTI, which would make sense since I've had every single symptom and then went to the doctor yesterday to get tested to make sure that it had went away.

It successfully treats all types of urinary infections:
1. Drink plenty of water(double any of your usual intake)
2. Cranberry fruit or cranberry supplements
3. Vitamin C food or supplements
4. Yoghurt and probiotics
5. Apply heat
6. Empty your bladder after drinking lots of water
7. Oregon grapes 🍇
8. Buy alkaline Syrup or alkaline water and consume it regularly (it is beneficial by being able to effectively neutralize the acid in your body).
If it isn't improving, Search for a urologist in the city (should be good rated); consult with them. Antibiotics may be required in some cases.

I have them ALL THE TIME. My doctor even gave me a 60 pill prescription of antibiotics. They are so uncomfortable. It’s so psychological how your brain tells you that you need to use the restroom, but you don’t.

At my age of 62, my Urologist (>30 years exp) started treating me for UTI via meds. 1 UTI in 1st year, Then 2 UTIs in 2nd year & meds changed for each occurrence. 4 UTIs in 3rd year. Until finally constant UTI - even while on meds - and the meds stopped controlling the UTI. Doc then gave me printed handout - 4 types of rUTI (reoccurring UTI), all with no known cause, no known cure, and if prostate surgery occurs - it doesnt cure the UTI. BUT he had never told me that his meds would not wipe out the UTIs nor did he ever tell me that it is typical for UTIs to be reoccurring.

In March 2021 I had male prostate & bladder stone surgery. Videos posted on YouTube of men saying "doing great after surgery". But that is 2 or 3 years after surgery. i now 8 months after surgery. Doc had said my body had to relearn how to function. Often cannot leave my house due to runs.

I think - no 100% positive proof for this theory - but I think as my prostate enlarged it pushed the bladder against the colon - thus resulting in crack(s) that allows bacteria in the colon to leak into the urinary tract. The colon bacteria does it job in the colon without problems there, but when it comes into the urinary tract - it is called a e. coli infection. I know of no way to reseal the urinary tract and the colon to prevent leakage.

I just think - my Urologist should have recommended surgery 7 years ago - not allow my prostate to contine to grow and cause more hurt to the organs around it. Recovery from the surgery is not easy, but doing it 7 years earlier in my lifetime would have been easier than now.

I understand why some patients say "my Doc used me as a cash cow so I would visit more often and pay the Doc more money".
