Urinary tract infections (UTI) are most commonly bacterial infections of portions of the urinary tract, including the bladder (cystitis). E coli is the most common causative organism. There are a variety of risk factors that increase the likelihood of getting UTIs, including female gender, catheter use among others. In this lesson, we discuss the pathophysiology behind a UTI, look at all the risk factors in more detail, and discuss the symptoms, how they are diagnosed and how they are treated.

UTIs became frequent with my prostate blockage. Didn’t like the constant stream of antibiotics that also destroyed both good and bad bacteria. I accidentally discovered that Alimax, an alison concentrated garlic product also cured my UTIs. I’ve never used antibiotics for this problem again. Alumax is I’ve available in most health food stores. You can easily try it. If it doesn’t work and resort to antibiotics it necessarily.

Glad you said females outnumber males a lot of people just don’t think men get them. I can remember having an undiagnosed one when i was younger and it probably resolved when i took antibiotics for something else but i wish i knew what it was then i would have treated it.

PSA: Clean your coffee maker monthly! And replace it if the water reservoir or other parts are caked with coffee ground dust or aren't possible to clean. They can indeed accumulate bacteria, including E. Coli. Also, don't forget to clean your faucet nozzles and showerheads.
