Just tried one of these in the Apple shop today. The guy at the side of me bought one. I think 24" monitors are the perfect size for me. The Mac opened everything I tried in an instant, the screen was better than anything I, personally, have used. Don't know why all the hate for the lightening cable for the mouse and keyboard? What benefit would USBC bring to a keyboard and mouse? It's no like you are transferring anything, it just a charging cable. Plenty of devices are still using micro usb; my Ring doorbell, my other security cameras, the chargers for my cameras, my portable keyboard charger, my graphics tablet No hate is given to any of these products.

I had 3 unskippable commercials when I first clicked on your video just to be greeted by you having a commercial in your video. Christ on a crutch.

Can't believe my 2020 27" iMac is still the best iMac they ever made. 27" screen, 8TB of storage, 128gb RAM, ports, can run Half Life Alyx on max settings. They don't sell anything that even compares.

The lightning port on the Magic Mouse is NOT A HUGE PROBLEM in practice. A quick 2-3 minute charge will get you to the end of the day, then charge it overnight. Or, do what I do, keep a backup mouse in your pencil drawer.

The first Mac Studio or iMac 27“ that gets the M3 Max or better, there my money flows

I like the iMac as a package, but some things are just deal breakers, a 23.9 inch screen in this day and age is just a crime imo, no doubt some people don’t care, or are willing to compromise, but even if Apple offered an option of a 27 or 30/32 inch model with a 4K screen that would have been awesome.
I would have bought the first M1 version but for this, and it appears I won’t be buying this one either, and I have seen plenty of other people also mention this gripe, I have no doubt Apple is doing itself out of potential sales for this one item.

its a shame they still do not support to be used as Display.

it would be so damn cool...to use it as display - also with thunderbolt 4 you could easy build some kind of cluster with any M macbook

imagine...connect a m3 macbook pro to this Imac and you get the power somewhat compareable to a m3 Pro ...while having a beautiful display.

Great video. I watched a panel of tech professionals discussing the larger, more Pro iMac. They believe Apple has crunched the numbers and found the all-in-one era for professional users has passed by. Pros want to pick their own display and want them separated from their computer. I love all-in-ones, but It was not for professional work.

Fingers crossed for a new "iMac Pro!"

I had iMacs years ago and loved them for home use. For work I was all in on the MacBook Pro. I'm now looking to replace my maxed out 2019 1 TB Intel MacBook Pro. It's been a truly great machine and is still very functional. I'm now retired and don't really need the high end laptop anymore. I spend most of my time tethered to my desk's external monitor. I was hoping for a very compelling update to the iMac, but this doesn't seem to be it. I'm now thinking that an upgraded Mac Mini or a base Mac Studio paired with a killer monitor may be the way to go. For the past year or two I've used my iPad Pro for travel and love it. Photo editing and processing is my heaviest processor use, so I'm thinking that a solid, future proofed (as possible) home desktop base with a new iPad Pro for portability is my path forward. Thoughts?

I used a 27' iMacs for 9 years and really wanted to upgrade but the 23.5' display is too small even if you up the default resolution. The goal is 2 have as little stuff on your desk as possible and a 32" iMac with a 6k display would be a dream especially if they could hit the 2k mark with a M3 chip.

Does the new IMac have an audio output?

I always liked these a lot. My eyesight isn't the best, however. I wish they would bump the size up to 27 inches. After all, you can't use them as displays, so its not going to cut into the Studio Display market.

Any hope to see a new iMac Pro appear dim. Also, might compete with the Studio line up which is admittedly very versatile.

I currently have an M2 MacBook Air. Would I be better to buy an external monitor for it, or go all out and get the M3 iMac? I’m trying to find information online and I can’t find it anywhere. No one has done any kind of deep dive into which is the better option?

You say you don't understand the colour difference between front and back but apple said in the M1 version reveal that lighter colours are shown to be less distracting for workflows.

I'm still using my Intel 27" iMac right now bc they have not put the M Pro or M Max chips into their iMacs yet. I would have bought the original 24 incher if they would have put more than just their base chip inside...am still hopeful...
