Anker 563 USB-C Docking Station (10-in-1) | Unlock Triple Display for M1 MacBooks
Working on your M1 MacBook is so much easier when you add 10 ports including connectivity for up to 3 monitors.

These are the two Macs that I think are the most underrated right now. Macs that offer not only superb user experiences, but can be found for extremely affordable prices! And yes, one of them even runs Intel. Holy guacamole

The screen might be dated but the 21.5 and 27” iMac’s are such nice looking (dare I say timeless?) machines. 24” just looks like a monitor.

I would've absolutely bought the M1 iMac in a heartbeat if there was a 27" option for extra $200 or something like that, it would've been a dope machine, but a 23.5" display is a bit too small for my liking, despite the quality of the display being pretty great.

Crazy as it sounds, the lack of Apple logo on the front of the M1 iMac has gotta play a part in why there hasn’t been so many sales of them. People care about the Apple brand and that blank chin just looks so odd

I *did* get the 21” iMac, many years ago, maybe about a year after it first came out. I opted for the 16GB RAM, 512GB version mainly because the video editing software I planned to run recommended 16GB; it was also the first time I every used a macOS machine.
I eventually replaced it because Apple stopped supporting that model with its macOS updates, replacing it with a Dell workstation that I bought on sale, which was a mistake because the chipset was frustrating when it came to WIN10 updates, and so I got the 24” M1 iMac in blue, 16GB RAM and 1TB drive. I’m really happy with it as a home workstation.
I opted for this size because I find 27” was really too big for my home office. I have one of those wooden DIY home station units that came out in the 1990s back when everyone was still using CRT terminals for monitors, and the cubbyhole space allotted for a monitor was just too small for a 27” monitor size.

After watching your older iMac reviews, I was convinced to get a Late 2015 iMac 21.5 4k, 3.GHz, Intel Core i5, 1TB HDD 8GB and it works perfectly fine for me. Thanks so much for your good reviews!

I'm very happy with the M1 iMac I bought used. It took a few patient weeks (and a few missed opportunities) before I bought the one I did, one of the rarer 16GB models with the 8-core GPU and 512GB SSD for just $1350 after shipping. Beautiful machine, though it's too bad I can't see the deep blue part of it where I set it up.

I have a 2019 21.5" iMac that I bought as an upgraded refurb from OWC in August 2020. With 32gb of RAM and a 2tb OWC SSD, it is simply amazing for everything I do with it. It is the perfect size for my desk, I don't need a 27" 5k display. You know one of the things I like the best about it? Its simple 3.6GHz 4-core i3 without Turbo Boost, which means I have never heard a fan without pressing my ear against the case and the thing barely feels warm even after hours of heavy use. And I can boot into Mojave so I can use old, never-upgraded/abandoned 32-bit applications when I want to.

I don't edit videos for a living so rendering speed isn't a major issue for me. I am not playing the hottest new game that was released last week so the 2gb Radeon 555x doesn't bother me at all. OWC still sells these upgraded refurbs, if you just do "general computing" stuff, this thing is a great choice.

I'd take the i9 model, just for the repair/upgrade and thanks to Opencore you'll have mac OS support right up until the last intel mac to be supported. Not to mention you've got the avenue still open for Windows/Linux too.

I own a 21.5 inch 4k iMac with the base Core i3 chip and an SSD, and in everyday use it's not noticeably slower than my M1 MacBook Air. Plus the major bonus you didn't mention is Bootcamp. Which is why it's very likely to be replaced with a refurbished 27 inch 5k iMac rather than an Apple silicon machine.

I'm watching your video on my three-month old M1 24-inch iMac. You're correct. It's a fantastic buy. And I did upgrade it. It has more RAM (16gb), a larger drive (1tb), and an extended keyboard with a trackpad.

I like the 27” iMac because of the screen size (for my old eyes). I think your next project should be to show us how to upgrade a 27” iMac with an M1 or M2 chip. Also, show us how to turn a 27” iMac into a monitor for the M1 MacMini.

The M1 iMac is beautiful imo but I prefer the basic silver color vs. the rainbow color models. And I’d want it with the number pad keyboard, 16gb ram, and 1tb storage as well which bumps the price quite a bit. Personally I don’t have a need for a 27” screen; coming from 13-15” laptops the 24” screen seems huge to me!

Love the new imac everything about is totally great but the 24 inch screen is a deal breaker for me, I went 27 inch scrren back in 2017 and now 24 just feels so crammed ..apple did a huge miss by not releasing a 27 inch version and if they only give us the hugely overpriced studio display as an option guess imac won't be in my future ):

One added benefit of the Intel chip is that it can run Windows inside Bootcamp, which is currently not possible with an M1 Mac. You can run Windows in virtualization on a M1, but for some, that just isn’t like running Windows natively.

I personally do not like the new design. If they made it in silver aluminum with the apple logo and the black bezel, count me in then.

I bought a 2017 fully loaded iMac for $500 bucks recently. It was a great buy and I am glad I have it as my machine now. (:

i bought a floor model 27 inch 2020 iMac from Best Buy for 800. I have total tech and apple care for extra reassurance. hopefully should still have lots of life in it. It looks and feels like new and I really love it. The fact it’s upgradable and has a 27 inch screen makes me pick it over the m1.
