Just ordered the Yellow one with 16GB Memory and 512GB Storage.It’s replacing my 27” iMac from 2017.Happy to downsize to 24” as it’s clear that they aren’t going to make another 27” and I cannot wait any longer.

So Oct 10th 2023 my 2012 iMac died, I had to get a new computer so I went and picked up the iMac M1, I love it, but be low and behold 5 days later I went on vacation to Austrilia and of course Apple announces M3 iMac . I couldn't return cause I bought from Apple had I bought from Costco, I could of returned but from what I am hearing there isn't much of a big difference, I am very happy with the M1 from my old iMac 2012. I know I would have got more bang for my buck with the M3 but oh well I got almost 12 yrs from my old iMac. Just wanted to share that timing sometime is everything . I don't think I will wait almost 12 yrs next time to upgrade.

Shame still no update to the 27" iMac. And what's with them retaining lightning charging ports?

For the iMac's target market, families or single adults that want an "All in One" home Mac setup, the M3 is a solid choice.

The good:
- Great display resolution at 4.5k. Very rare to find an AIO at that price for such a great display.
- Advance 1080p web camera.
- M3 chip is on par with the M1 Pro 14-inch laptop.

The bad:
- Ports are still an issue.
- Price is still high when compared to customized desktop market (Minisforum UM790 and M2 Mac Mini).

I have a 27 in. late 2013 iMac and yes it is getting really slow but I am holding out for a larger iMac and was really hoping that was going to be the " One more thing " I have a MacBook Pro so not all is lost for now.. Come on Apple give us the larger iMac !!

One thing I didn't understand, besides the lighting thing, was, how could they have not made a space black iMac like they did with the MacBook?! hmph.

I ordered the top M3 with 2TB silver, coming from a 27in 5k 2015. i really hope I get used to the size ( I have friends who say they have ) we'll see.

I’m glad to see the iMac getting a refresh but not going to make me upgrade from my M1 model. I expected to see centre stage on this refresh, I think a few extra features would have been good

So annoying! I have been hanging onto my 2012 iMac 21”. It’s really only just coping, crashing all the time etc. I was waiting for the M3 chip iMac, but did expect that to come with a few more upgrades, and new colours especially black. Now I don’t know. Maybe wait longer for a new design with upgrades? Or wait for a Mac mini m3 and get their monitor to go with that? Or bite the bullet and get a fully specced iMac M3 with 24 GB unified memory ( for future proofing) and 2TB SSD? Any thoughts….

idk if anyone can answer this question for me but for memory, should I go with 16gb or 24gb?? I use softwares like the adobe suite (photoshop, lightroom, indesign, illustrator) sometimes all at once, or final cut pro, autoCAD alongside them. I usually work on a MacBook Pro 2018 with 32gb memory and it's been good enough for my needs (but obviously the fan will start to run like crazy and SOMETIMES the apps will glitch out and lag - sometimes finalcutpro will close). Even though it sounds like a lot, would 16gb be enough? Since that's what all these other older imac's ran on?

i like how apple skipped the m2 on the imac. that is a good stragay that would be suitable for the macbook pros. we dont need a new mac with the newest m processor every single year. do it with the iphone too. skip a year between devices. it will not only boost sales, it would bring back the excitement for apple products again. if apple can do something about the leaks and rumors that ruin the excitment, that would be good too
