I'm all for the cozy feel, but there's a fine line between cozy and claustrophobic. And this one seems to lean over on the claustrophobic side.

I like the old club world window seats. When the privacy screen is closed it is one of the most private seats in business class. Every cloud.

BA has become a carrier to just get Avios to use elsewhere. They have a great advantage location wise and the potential to be so much better than they are now. I think their new product is a step in the right direction. They still fly their older 787s to my destinations, so I sadly will have to wait before I can try their new business class.

Thanks for the tiny bit of BA love. I'm quite frankly sick of the criticism of such a good airline from snobs. The people who criticise BA are those that can fly on any airline anywhere. It is a wealth and respect thing. Customers of Asian airlines aren't predominantly western and are more respectful and give better ratings to airlines. Those in the West are extremely critical of even the most minor flaw. Whining about quality of champagne isn't even a first world problem. I've even read bloggers who whine about recliner seats on 2 hour flights, it's pathetic.

The club suite looks. East idyl but I also like how you pointed out the lack of door use. I wonder if people really explore all the features of business/first class when they board. I would be all over that snack bar. One of each, please! Haha I'm from Toronto so it's nice to know you fly out this way, too! Ive never used Billy Bishop Airport before but I've heard great things. I believe they also have an underground/underwater pedestrian walkway from the airport to downtown. Another neat feature. Thank you for your honest review! I'm also stunned at the way the food was served and how long it took. Wow!

This video exemplifies reason I refuse to fly BA long haul. They pretend to let forth a premium grade A product but appear to cut corners left and right. Two clerks At check in with limited time before flight. Really? A new plane with equipment that doesn’t work, really? A bizzare seat configuration, really? For the price money is best spent elsewhere. PS love the content Dan! You are the #1 airline blogger in my book. Sam has nothing on you!

I have travelled BA for 25 years and have seen the premium products deteriorate. Club Europe on the 737 is a bit of a joke now on a recent flight from Cyprus to London I was offered a staff meal because there was no choice left only the tasteless slip and slop option, which my partner had. You get access to a Lounge but beware fast track is only available at some European airports. Recently they completely cancelled my Club Europe flight when I was at the airport and although they refunded my ticket price I had to spend twice as much to fly on a budget airline from another airport on the same day.


You are so correct about your comments about mixed fleet. When I first flew first class twenty years ago it was great, Montrachet and Krug were on the menu with amazing personalised service it was unforgettable, but on my last flight back from Boston in First with mixed fleet, I could have been in economy. The worst airport to fly Club from is New York JFK, although they offer a Spa etc, there is never any availability for Club passengers, the ground staff are polite but really they don't care.


I flew Club from Bahrain to London last month and in was rubbish compared to Gulf Airlines who I had flown with the week before, the check in, Lounge experience, seat and in flight catering beat BA at every stage in the process.


I am flying First from LHR to PHL in January but have low expectations now, the Concorde Room is okay but I think the Virgin Club House is more fun and offers more. The Virgin Upper Class product is claustrophobic but this is compensated for by the Limo and speedy access.


So BA in both our experience is variable, but have you tried the LCY to JFK service ? I have done this once but it is like a return to the old days of flying . With only 32 passengers making the trip with a dedicated crew an element of the old concorde days . The service and staff on this route are beyond reproach. My conclusion is BA have to get their house in order and offer the same standard of service across their brands so as a traveller we can make up our own minds.


However, I would love to see you and Oscar try the LCY - JFK product
