I hate Rabbids too but they came first, the minions were inspired by Rabbids. It's weird to say but you can blame Rayman for minions!

One of the things I loved about Sonic Boom was the fact that it remembered that nearly every character is a young teenager who isn’t very worldly. Tails has a crush and asks his friends for advice, which they provide. It’s all terrible advice, but it’s advice. Tails does it all, making himself look like an idiot and Eggman sees all this happening. The show then reminds us that Eggman is technically the only adult in the cast and he pulls Tails aside and gives him actually GOOD advice, to honestly just be himself. In the face of all the horrible tips he’d gotten, this is sensible and again, Eggman is an adult. He said past the idiocy of youth. It makes sense he’d see how bad the other tips were and quietly try to remedy it without causing an uproar. Eggman is one of my favorite villains ever and I always like when they take different steps with his character. It’s one of the reasons I love Sonic X too.

I'm honestly amazed how they turned a terrible game with glitches and horrid design, to a good cartoon show with a decent plotline and theme. Sonic Boom
