Who were the Knights of Ren?

The Knights of Ren were a group of masked Force sensitive warriors that pillaged worlds and adhered to the ways of the Ren, a religious ideology embodied by the lightsaber.

The enclave, which began in the Unknown Regions and had been mythologized over the centuries, roamed the galaxy, pillaging worlds and leaving a trail of destruction. Heavily armed, they were known for being fearsome opponents in battle.

Worshippers of the dark side who were imbued with the Force’s strength, they referred to it as “the shadow.” Darth Sidious described them as not adhering to any code in his book The Secrets of the Sith. He stated they would do anything to win, and as a result, they lived their lives as they pleased.

The Knights of Ren were one of the few “dark side practitioners” during the Imperial Era. While the dark side gave them strength, their ability to use it was severely limited. However, they were the only ones with the power to openly contend with the Sith.

The only time they oppose the Sith is in crimson reign but they mention several times how Vader along could wipe them out and they even say that the Sith have ignored them so far because they had bigger fish to fry like the Nightsisters and of course the Jedi that's why they joined crimson dawn because they were no match for the Sith alone

IMO they didn’t even need to be in last Jedi that much. If they could’ve just had a scene with Kylo in the beginning either sending them out to conquer the galaxy in the name of the first order or have a scene where he talks to them via hologram about that subject it would explain why they aren’t there and set up that the first order is really pressing down on planets.

Been watching lots of Ren, the musician. I wonder if it's his real name or if this is part of the origin story. Check Ren out if you haven't already. Very heavy hitting content. Great musician and a bard of modern times, surviving chronic illness and trying to find and shine out some light. He's my favourite musician since I heard his song 'Hi Ren'. That's about facing the dark side in himself and resonating hope through his sine waves!

You know if they were smart instead of having a stupid flashback scene of Rey seeing the Knights of Ren that never gets explained again we should have got a scene with them fighting Luke with Ben by his side like in the Kylo Ren comics. Imagine that it would have been so much better!!! Or the Mike Zeroh fantasy of the Knights of Ren storming Ahch-To, the island that Luke lives on, and he fights all of them while Kylo fights Rey...
