How to force change Windows lock screen and logon image (GPO) - Windows Server 2022 | Windows 11

Demo on how to force change the Windows lock screen and logon image using a Group Policy Object (GPO). This will work on Windows Enterprise and Education volume licensed clients. Please note, this Group Policy will be ignored by clients with Windows Professional edition (as of December 2022).

This demonstration uses Windows Server 2022 server. But the principles are same for Windows Server 2012 through 2022 (Windows Server 2022 / 2019 / 2016 / 2012). There are no GUI differences among most of the pervious versions of Windows Servers. The enforced GPO settings will work on Enterprise and Education versions of Windows client Operating Systems connected to the domain.

⚠Same steps are applied to Windows Server 2022 / 2019 / 2016 / 2012. But please keep in mind that you need to have a compatible Windows client OS in order for this GPO to work. Otherwise, this configuration will be ignored by the Windows client machine as of December 2022. How can I prevent users from editing lock screen time settings? While I could disable the Control Panel, I haven't done so because some users still need access to it. As a result, some users can access and change the screen lock settings. Could you assist me in disabling the screen lock on their PCs?

Hi, great tutorial. I am a little concerned on what other GPOs that wan't work unless you have an enterprise licens. Do you have a list of GPOs that will need an enterprise licens. I have been unable to find one on the internet. Thanks.
