Max von Sydow often played secret villains. It’s baffling why they cast him at all if they weren’t going that direction with Bloodraven, other than that he’s a big name and they wanted to phone it in after casting talent.

It's a shame how they just vanished Meera from the show, after all she did and sacrificed for Bran.
