if you think about it Bran being able to see into the past and future creates such a Time vortex that no storyline makes sense. he could have easily warned about Daenerys going mad or change any other plot line in the story just by informing the characters what is going to happen.

They do clarify in the show. The night king wants to erase the world of man and bran is the three eyed raven/ all knowledge of the past and present. He is their entire history.
