In the winter it’s dark for 20 hours, it’s extremely cold and the sun will only appear for a few hours a day. It’s November 28th in Yakutia and the temperature is already -40 degrees. It's so interesting to see what is considered normal routine in other cultures and countries, especially with harsh weather. That is a lot of work to do basic things, but it is taken in stride. My first thought was "holy cow, I get up to pee at least once in the middle of the night". Layering up to hike outside, I'd be up the rest of the night. Amazing stuff. The cows behaved like my 2 dogs. LOL

Hello, from Thailand. Where the temperature is around 33-40 degrees and the lowest in the northern plains in winter is around 6 degrees. Before, I couldn't imagine how people living in the -70 degree area lived their lives. until I found your channel .Thank you very much for sharing your daily life experiences. I grew up in a mountain village in Europe, the coldest winter was about -25 C degrees. Already hurts like hell. Couldn't imagine what the winter feels like in Yakutia. Thank you for the videos!

I lived one winter in an old cottage in a Swedish village with no running water.
So my morning routine was similar : put on layers of clothes, make a fire, collect snow for melting into household water, outdoor toilet, and later on bucket shower outside.
Of course, it never got to -40, maximum was -20, but usually between 0 and -15.
Thank you for this great video and insight into their life. From my own experience, i have a small idea of what it can be like, but this family's reality in Yakutia is on a whole other level !

I lived in a place where it got down to -45 degrees Celsius, and it made the body ache. Indeed, kids didn't have to go to school when it got that cold. I find it hard to imagine living in -70 degrees, but humans are amazingly adaptable.
