Your hips break waaaay before your knees. Notice how this subtle movement of the hips first tips your torso forward, placing much more demands on your core, in particularly thoracic extension (i.e. your upper back).

The majority of the forward travel of your knees, doesn't happen until the end of the lift, where it appears emphasised to achieve depth.

The hips and knees need to break at the same time and move in unison ; this'll keep your torso much more upright. It'll be harder on your quads, but much easier on your core/torso.

You look like someone who's transitioned from heavy back squats (low bar perhaps?) and is used to loading up the glutes as well as the quads to shift big weights ; this won't work on front squats, you've got to be much more quad dominant on your lift.

P.S. I was exactly the same when I first started front squatting. You're doing great, some minor tweaks, and your front squat will be

Just started doing these last month because since im taller its harder for me to do back squats and these work best for me. Youre doing impressive brotha, fuck these haters, they all have a stomach gut & are jealous because they cant be lean & squat that much, fatboys go do cardio first and stop worrying about others who are better than you!!!

Incorrect statement. You have postural issues and front squat is exposing them. Your structural balance is wrong - probably caused by sitting with your head tilted down for periods of time, aka your daily life. Work on your stability and strength, it will straighten you up. Good work, but technique indicates same as above said. Start with your knees going forward and out and don’t do much hip hinge, so then you are not forced to angle your torso to keep the bar on the center of gravity. Instead move your knees maximally to the front and keep your torso vertical as much possible. Probably with weak ankle mobility it’s going to be much harder but that’s how it should be done. Good luck

Are you saying front squats gave you the medical condition kyphosis, or you just didn’t like how you rounded your shoulders during the lift?

Pretty awesome. Never mind some of the critique here, but do you think the comments about knee bend needing to start a bit earlier might be correct, or else it becomes a bit too "front squat with back squat technique" maybe?

Do you front squat with protracted shoulders?

Why are you so defensive about your depth? If you dropped some weight and went ATG you could reduce patellofemoral stress without losing gains, possibly greater gains in the long run. We may sound like haters to you, it’s not, you def. strong, but you would be the winner in the long run if you went deeper.
If you doubt it try looking into the studies done on ROM and/or compressive forces in the knee joint during squat.

I wonder if u were to release ur lats (since that will release shoulder girdle and allow more upward arm movement) and strength spinal muscles and maybe go less weight it wud help? Real question. Wud love update

What kind of squat exercise would you do to prevent kyphosis? Great lift 👍

Please could you do a video on the hand placement as my arms are way too long and no where near mobile enough for a snatch grip so I need the cross grip like you but I can’t do it so the bar is secure enough to use any decent weight
