Stop the clock! Puzzle at 14:20 has been solved, and the prize has been awarded!
In case you're curious, the sound is from 'Riven: The Sequel To Myst' (rotating room).

i like how he says "im not a scientist—" before drawing the lighting the same way science teachers in highschool say "im not an artist but—" before drawing a diagram

I ... I think I GET IT now. The first time I watched this I was overwhelmed. Then I rewatched some time later and I feel like I leveled up. All those moody scenes with the cool lighting I always wanted to draw, I can finally draw them ... the execution isn't perfect of course, but I GET it. It's not scary or overwhelming anymore. Thank you so much. T_T *_*

Where was this info when I was at art school as a youngster? Professors were giving only directives, like do this and this. But NEVER explained why.
From your videos I learned actually more than from my art school. Eventhough it was 20 years ago and I went for 3D art eventually...

Damn, you've broken down such a complex subject into a very digestible video. I can never thank you enough, you are such an awesome teacher.

My mind is actually blown. This was hands down the best and most cohesive explanation of light/shadow and color that I have ever seen. Major kudos to you for breaking down such a complex topic in such an approachable way!

This video just got me really excited. For a while now I've become more aware of the different colors in shadows and such, especially in many paintings by artists I look up to. However I didn't really get the theory behind it and it left me a little frustrated whenever another painting of mine failed because I couldn't get a grasp of how this all worked. But now!! I'm just so so excited to go and paint, to put all this theory into practice! Thank you for this wonderful video, I can already say that it helped me lots in understanding light and color :)

The fact that just watching this video made me realise something that I didnt before in how light works is kinda nuts… im not sure how to explain but its like theres been something right in front of my eyes that i’ve only just begun to see. This has really motivated me 😊

My god, I finally get it. I’ve been struggling to understand this stuff for so long I thought I would never get it. And I didn’t have the right words to explain what I didn’t know, so I couldn’t get any good answers either. I am SO GLAD I bought your “planes of the face” course and that you led me here. I cannot think of a better art teacher than you.
