Google Drive Storage being used but you dont have files? (Solution)

A friend of mine called me because she couldnt receive any emails on her Gmail G Suite Free account.
We couldnt figure out what was going on because she doesnt use Drive at all and it was empty. But we found the application that was generating all this trouble! WhatsApp!

So if you are facing a similar issue, you probably have 2 options:

1) Buy Google Drive Storage which is very affordable nowadays.

2) Delete your WhatsApp backup or check if you can select what is being backed up.

oh thank you, this saved me!! i couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was happening, and it turned out my Google Photos maxed out without me noticing

I might need to get rid of some of my stored emails. I didn't have this problem. Mine is still full - even though it is empty!

empty the trash on google drive if you just recently deleted some files and then reload the pag, hope that helped

I do not get it. I have same issue 15gb of storage taken, but no files. I do have watsup but I do not have this storage issue with the app. I disconnected the app from Google drive and still 15/15 gb
