Another thing that I’ve discovered is if you put in the search bar “is:important” or you go to the important tab you’ll see a lot of spam/promotional emails that were never deleted. I have over 42, 000 emails that were taking up storage for things I thought was deleted. Google fills up your storage then try’s to get you to pay for it. SMH 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thanks for the info, very useful. One question. Is there a way to delete the attachments and keep the original email? In most cases it's the attachments that uses the space.

What if I want to stop google drive from saving emails on there, while still automatically syncing everything else? Makes no sense to save all of my emails to my drive, to then have to go on a mission to free up email space!?

The problem I'm having is i have lots of photos on google photos that dates back all the way to 2001 up until now and thing is its making it look like my gmail is running out of space and its not its really the pictures that's making gmail run out of space i just wish Google wasn't link to a whole bunch of stuff

I don't know how common this is but I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my Google Drive was so full. It said something like 91% full and it kept asking if I wanted to buy more space.
