“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:8

In our darkest moments, He is there when no one else is. You’re never alone when you walk with God. 🖤

God never "needed to".
He "wanted to show" us the depths of his love in our own language because it brings out greater good.

The story of Jesus is like an innocent man taking the punishment for another who commits a hideous crime. Nobody asks the judge, "Why don't you just forgive them?" when speaking of a criminal who commit a crime. We expect judgement to be issued, however serious the crime.

As a Catholic, a line in the Exsultet prayer chanted during the Easter Vigil Mass sums this all up so well: "O happy fault, that earned for us so great, so glorious a Redeemer!"

The theological implication behind it was that because of Christ becoming man and bringing us into to that blessed union with God, we can partake of an even greater spiritual reality than we did before the fall. Praise God!

I was agnostic for most of my life even though I went to a catholic school, yet after seeing some videos recommended to me on youtube about Christians debating other people on the street I began to read the bible and was just asking myself this exact question yesterday. What a coincidence

Your point at roughly 1:00 adds another element to Colossians 1:15-18 as the Second Adam. Jesus’ resurrection is the start of the New Creation, Him being the “firstborn from the dead”.

Christ came to not make bad men good, but to make dead men live.

There is always someone in the comments that has to be against Jesus in all videos about him. Jesus clearly did something magnificent if his light still pierces through peoples hearts to this day. I love you God! Thank you for this time on earth ❤

Great video. I've often wondered why, but part of me realises that humans seem to love a person who dies young. The tragedy resonates through time more than the happy ending. This video really helps, thanks

Jesus was quoting Psalms 22:1. That psalms speaks about a man being crucified( just as Jesus was in that moment). And, and how the people mocked him and took his clothes and cast lots for them. And that man in the the paslms appeared to lose faith in that moment but towards the end of the passage he revealed that he was still very faithful to God and God's Kingdom. And so, Jesus is quoting Psalms 22 to show that with him, being on the cross that prophecy that his ancestor King David wrote was fulfilled with him. ✝️

What has resonated with me is something Dr. Michael Heiser once said about God. He likes to participate with His creation face to face as a men who speaks with his friends. Not only here on Earth but in Heaven with all His angels.

When Christ says "oh god, oh god, why have you forsaken me" he doesn't plea for help but pray to The Father. He reffers to pslam 22 saying: IT IS DONE!

God can just say 'I forgive you', but God chooses to show how much we are loved and forgiven.

The way I've answered this, the wages of sin is death. So God sent His Son to pay that wage, because no animal or sacrifice could ever satisfy such a debt. For the debt of sin to be forgiven, there had to be an ultimate payment, an ultimate sacrifice. So the divine sacrifice pays it all, and allows the chance of salvation for everyone.
