As someone who has been suicidal, I HATE the argument that someone else MAKES you commit suicide. Yes, there were things that people did that affected my self talk. But I was the one who had to decide what I was going to do about my self-destructive thoughts and feelings. Just like, NO ONE else could have pulled me out of the mental/psychological state I was in. Take accountability.

I work in higher ed, and every time I hear someone say the university should be a safe space I reply "For ideas." This is what we've lost. We've tried to make higher ed a safe space for feelings, and that runs directly counter to what any educational institution should prioritize. There are conversations we're not having and research we're not doing because an idea might make someone feel bad.

I don't agree with everything you say. I don't agree with everything Candace Owens says. But in this case, she was completely right. Life's tough. Get a helmet. And when you are supposed to ask her a question, get on with it. The one gal made a statement rather than asking a question. And I think that last guy was about to give the Gettysburg address. Was he in the wrong place and thought he was supposed to give a gender studies lecture? He had a set of notes he was reading off from.
