MCITP 70-640: New Features in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Service Pack 1

This video explores the new features that are found in Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Service Pack 1. One of the biggest changes in Windows Server 2008 is that it is now very modular. You can customize Windows Server 2008 very easily by adding or subtracting roles and features from the operation system. Here is a list of the new features for each server.

If you create a user account in Active Directory you can use that user account to access a computer in the domain. Windows also as local user account on the computer that can be used to access the computer as well. These are one servers and workstation. Only Domain Controllers do not allow local user accounts to be used,

A lot of what you do as an administrator is integrated into Server Manger in Windows 2012. In a lot of cases, you can open server manager and do not need to open other tools. You can add and remove the GUI as required so can change to server core to full GUI and vise versa without having to perform a reinstall.
