Spirituality is a bigger spectrum than being religious. We don't need religion to be spiritual. I am a spiritual person. I respect nice people more than religion regardless which religion they are from. I know some staunch religious people who are very nice to me. They keep their religion to themselves and practise friendship with others. I really like them. They can understand that it is their choice to strictly follow and practise their religion and it is my choice to be liberal. None of us are wrong. But, i can't get along with those who think only what they believe and practise is correct and right.

Here's how i define spirituality, and religion. Spirituality is much more concerned with things that transcend the material world.

Religion on the other hand is much more of a social institution that is comprised of beliefs, and practices that recognize the sacred.

So in other words. Religion is way more complex than spirituality.

On what do you base your definitions? You seem to create a strawman that you then can easily knock down. While it is true that there are many religions that focus on man-made rules and practices, Jesus came to reveal who the Creator is and to provide a payment for sin that leads to true freedom and forgiveness. Looking inside one's finite self to try to encounter the infinite is a futile exercise. Depending upon one's experiences is dangerous, because Satan appears as an angel of light in order to deceive. Truth is that which aligns with reality. If God IS real, then all the "feelings" in the world won't change His character and His holiness, nor lead us to a true knowledge of who He is. True spirituality is found in accepting His revelation to us through His Son.
