My old RE agent was friends with the lender. The deal was already sketchy to begin with and I felt like I was buying Wayyy too much house. Long story short - I ended up calling off the deal when the lender was sending documents straight to my RE agent without my knowledge. It was like they were trying to close the deal before I came to my senses.

As a lender, I communicate with the clients, but update the Realtor who most likely referred them. Typically, if it’s a Realtor partner we truly have open lines of communication, but I still protect my borrowers information. If a borrower finds me themselves, a lot of times the Realtor, who may not be familiar with my work, can get a little intrusive. This is the only times I’ve had Realtors try to act as the go between. Truthfully they would “prefer” their buyer to work with a lender they have used before.

I usually speak for my clients when their working with the lender I referred them to, and if my client already has their own lender, that's a different story. Now, I do keep my nose out my clients finances though.

Like you mention, it's mostly have the first time homebuyers though!

I called an agent today. She was referred by a co-worker. I think she will be a perfect fit for me, because she said herself that she likes to open the lines of communication between her client's lender. She also said that she will walk me through the loan estimate and closing disclosure when we get there. I can appreciate this, as I am one of those persons who it takes a time to make sense of things. I am sure I have yet to get to know her, but she already seems to be on the ball compared to a few that I had before.

😊Me to I click here so fast!! Great information!! I am in the market as a first time home buyer. Do I have to let each lender know that I’m working with other lenders in the process of buying a home?

I have a realtor and a lender. The realtor said I want to work with the lender I recommend. I asked ( as a first time buyer) why? Her response I know he will get back to me when I email him. I wanted to also get a 2nd, 3rd quote and felt uncomfortable doing so because she and this lender work hand in hand . Any advice?

So my agents been asking for my lender's contact information and today I called my lender and she said there's no reason for her to be speaking to the agent and that she will not speak to the agent. I found it weird. What do you think? My lender is a bank

I clicked on this so fast. I mean eve. In closing they were texting each other in front of me. I just didn't feel comfortable with their friendship felt like I was being played. My realtor knew things before me. I didn't like it
