I’m almost 39 and I still can’t embrace the quiet… even when I need “quiet time” it’s usually me blasting music into my ears…

silence is ok. It's a sign you truly care and are curious to no more. Questions are great to keep a flow..God bless you all. Your not broken. That area of your brain works different but it's like a muscle. If you train it less grey..you can train it

Yes... A very familiar situation. I have to say though that I have had a few odd looks so maybe they're not thinking about what they have for dinner but bewildered as to why I said what I said. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ouch. This is definitely a part of my ADHD. I have developed social anxiety as a result.

Usually its the feeling of rejection that the Adhd brain tries to counter and a gentle touch from another human will quiet it down immediately.

Thank you for this video I wish I can show this to my housemate he thinks I am upset with him for something when I just want to be silent (as I work in customer service and see people all day ) or I am just planing my meals and enjoying the music in the house .

I often ask people to keep talking when there’s a pause so I don’t get bored, lol.

Over sharing doesn’t always mean that it’s ADHD related but yes, ADHD. People tend to do this as well but it’s more related to a trauma response to people who feel unnoticed or invalidated people that feel like they have to prove themselves which unfortunately a lot of people who have ADHD tend to do this so I would say this is more of a trauma response And not necessarily directly related to the core features of ADHD whether it is ADHD active or ADHD inactive or combine type.

Most people don’t realize that this is a secondary condition. It is not the core conditions of ADHD, but more or less of a side effect of ADHD because of how ADHD causes people to fall into certain situations that caused them to feel invalidated because of their life experiences and their experiences with their ADHD, causing them to have negative effects in their life, which therefore can cause these types of traumatic events, which is a secondary affect if that makes any sense.

Note I have ADHD combine type diagnosed by a doctor.

But all that mumbo-jumbo all it meant was this

ADHD is the core traits of ADHD
What is being explained here is a secondary type of result from the invalidation of people in general which causes people to wish to over explain themselves, as well as always feeling like they have to provide some form of information to fill validated ADHD people suffer from this a lot because of self-esteem problems because of their forgetfulness or inability to stay on track.

And personal experiences between other people back-and-forth so they have to feel like they constantly have to explain themselves even when there’s no conversation around which that is directly a trauma trait.

You can also just be unsettled by the silence because your brain is wanting dopamine, but I think that’s also a little bit of an understatement of the full situation .

People don’t like me because I do this, NOT because there are pauses. Which is even annoying to me. I keep telling myself I won’t do it next time but it’s like a compulsion I can’t seem to stop. I hate it.

Every real man should master these 6 things:

1. Physical strength (gym, combat sports)
2. Social intelligence (charisma, confidence, leadership)
3. Emotional control (never let feelings dictate your actions)
4. Financial independence (work on your income daily)
5. Mental sharpness (Read the book called Ascendarium and start winning)
6. Purpose-driven lifestyle (never waste time)

Master these, and life will reward you

I don't do that. In awkward silence my mind tends to drift away. Followed by slight moment of anxiety indeed...

Yeah I had to practice not doing this lol that’s why I’m always silent now 😂

I have pretty significant adhd but my brain does not run fast. Or if it does it get slowed down with a million distractions… just kinda wish people and these adhd content creators didn’t assume everyone with adhd has the same exact traits.
