The Gingerbreads in Germany usually have a wafer on the bottom not icing it might have icing on top though.
That's because the gingerbread cookies were originally made by monks in a church and so the wafer used is like
the wafer you get if you go to church in the US and take Communion , the wafer that's the body of Christ .
You guys look like you're having so much fun over there in Germany at Christmas time .
Great video guys, keep'em coming .
Bye, bye !

I was born & raised in Dinkelsbuehl (Bavaria) .. while living in Germany, it was always a special trip by train to Nuremberg for the Christkindlmarkt ...

The last stall with the pork bubbling away was my favorite when we went in 2024! Just watching you guys eat that made me so hungry for that pork again!! 😊

Nice video, I just found you guys and you seem nice. Also your video was pretty entertaining.

I'm from Nuremberg and I always love to see, how people react to the Christkindlmarkt or the City in general.

If you're stil in Germany, you should totally check out the christmas market in "Rothenburg ob der Rauber", it's an very old medieval market and in my opinion just a christmas wonderland, and if you're no longer here, you should put it on a list to do one day, it's absolutely worth it.

Greetings from Nuremberg. 😊

What a fun video! I went to this Christmas market when I lived in Germany way back in 1977. It looks like it's way bigger now that it was back then. Your video makes me want to go again!

We were there in Nuremberg the same evening you filmed this. Great fun! We stayed at Hotel Karl August, which is just steps away from the market. And you were right next to the local Starbucks, which was great for starting the day!

Thanks for the tips on the video! I'll be there next Christmas season. Last year I was at the Berlin, Frankfurt, and Heidelberg markets. I haven't had schashlik for years and I'll be certain to get it there!

These “Fleischküchle”, also known as Frikadellen, have been around in Germany since the 17th century. German emigrants brought them to the USA, from which hamburgers originated.

"Shashlik" means skewered, and came to us from the Turkic peoples.
