GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKET & STREET FOOD in Nuremberg!

Welcome to Nuremberg #Germany, our 29th country on our round the world trip! We finally made it to Bavaria where we experienced our first German Christmas Market and German Street Food!

This entire series was inspired by a single Instagram photo that Ashley saved years ago. The Nuremberg Christmas Market sparked a plan that will take us all over Bavaria as we get to know what Germany has to offer at Christmastime. Spoiler… a LOT!

After showing you around Nuremberg’s Old Town a bit, we head straight to the best GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKET for gluhwein and DELICIOUS GERMAN STREET FOOD. This Christmas Market truly has everything you’d want. We ate some of the famous Nürnberger brats and even some *flaming* mulled wine! Plus, we found the secret sauce for the Kartoffelpuffer, or German potato pancakes - garlic sour cream! YUM!

Oh how I've been waiting for this series. Bavaria, my favorite place ever. Nothing better than the food at the Christmas markets and I could almost taste those brats. So good to see the crowds were not overwhelming (we were there on the first weekend opened and the throngs of people made it impossible to get near most of the stalls). Just makes me want to go back. Great video.

Just discovered your channel. After more than 20 years of visiting Christmas markets until the advent of Covid I was delighted and more than a little sad to see you enjoying yourselves in Nurnberg. Until last week I was scheduled to travel to these wonderful places once more. The upsurge in Covid infections and the subsequent cancellation of the markets, including Nurnberg, put paid to that. I took my wife to see where i was stationed in Ansbach in December 2019 then specifically for Nuremberg Xmas market. It is truly a fairy tale xmas surrounded by the walls of the old town. We had also visited markets in Frankfurt and Berlin. By far this is the best. This view was also shared by a young California couple whom had just visited Berlin market and wanted to spend more time in Nuremberg after realizing how beautiful the experience was. P.S. in 2001 we visited the Trier, Germany xmas market, while small, it had rows of vendors, roasted chest nuts in air, giant soft snow flakes, and coke trucks with Santa on side.

I really enjoyed your video on the Nuremburg Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt). I took my family to the German Christmas Markets in 2016 (spent 5 days in Nuremburg) and again in 2019. I think you did an excellent job pointing out some of the delights of the Nuremburg Christmas Market. Keep up the good work on your videos. Merry Christmas 2021!!!

Finally got to watch the video :)! That Christmas market looks amazing, and so did the potato cakes at the end. I'm more savory so I would have gone with the garlic sour cream YUM! My husband would have def went with the apple sauce haha. All the drinks and everything just looked so yummy!

1:30 I went to this exact spot last year. If I remember correctly, the castle is on the other side of the bridge (that walk up is very steep).

Nuremberg was definitely a highlight for my German trip. It's so beautiful there. I want to visit the Xmas market this year.

I love Nuremberg. My husband was stationed there back in the day and took me there in 2016. It was absolutely amazing, although we didn’t go during Xmas. I loved the people, the culture, and the food. We want to live there someday.
