This is what you can expect, when you go to the world famous Nuremberg xmas market in Bavaria, Germany

Best way to get there, take the train. *Masks are no longer required

When you get off the train, first head to the crafts yard, inside the former armory of the imperial city. Within the old town wall you’ll find a mini market full of Xmas handmade goods, traditional crafts, and of course grandma’s homemade eggnog.

Each cup of Glühwein is NOT a souvenir, but you may ask to purchase it. You can return your cup to get your money back (aka “Tassenpfand” or deposit).

This Christmas market is one of the oldest in the world, you’ll discover aisles of wooden booths for xmas gifts, sweet treats, and Bavaria’s most irresistible
tradition, the Nuremberg bratwurst!

German xmas markets are Mega during the holidays, don’t forget about horse and carriage rides, guided tours, and events that last till xmas eve. Ok, that was fun, which Xmas market should I go to next? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m going on a Xmas Market European trip in December. Paris, Munich, Prague, Budapest and Vienna. Should I take cash in the local currency for these countries? And if so, how much is enough per day per person?
