My son has a high I.Q. but was impulsive and gave into temptation. He has been in and out of jail for years. Go figure I.Q. doesn't always mean that you will make good decisions.

I was tested at 165 as a child, then again at 160 as an adult. I attribute the five point drop to the fun I had in college. 🙂

I have a family member who is highly intelligent- always tested super high on any type of testing even after his brain injury. However he struggles with simple problem solving sometimes.

Current IQ: Unknown. I was told it was over 135 in sixth grade. My wife was up there, too, with a Valedictorian to go with it. I was also breast fed. My dad was smart. After joining the Army, instead of fighting in Europe or Japan, he was teaching RADAR in the Army. Was on a ship to Japan to do some real fighting when the war was over during his voyage. My mom was smart, too. Dad wouldn't marry a dummy. And she had an extensive collection of science fiction that she (and I later) read. I also didn't start speaking until I was three and a half. Then blew everybody away when I was speaking in full sentences.

At 11 years old, i tested at 153. When i went back to college to get another degree at 49 yrs old, i tested at 156. I struggle with mental health. I had dyslexia as a kid, which was fixed in Jr High. I also have discalculia, which wasn't discovered until the 1st time i went to college. I always thought i was stupid because i couldn't figure out math equations. I graduated high school with a D in pre algebra. And i only got a D because my teacher, who recognized my inability to do math, and that i was not just messing with him, said as long as i tried and turned in homework, right or not, he wouldnt fail me.

All an IQ test reveals is how good or bad a person is at taking an IQ test.

Never really tested (except for a joke of a secondary school evaluation). I do know not to run with scissors, strike a match around flammable materials, use electrical appliances around water and never answer your phone on your day off. I'm good.

150 at 13. Now? No idea, but I often say I'm way too smart to have done so many really stupid things!

I don’t remember taking an IQ exam. If I did, it wasn’t portrayed as an IQ test. But I’ve been told multiple times that I don’t think like “normal” people. Is that a sign?

IQ 147. Personally I prefer Bob Sternberg's triarchic theory of intelligence explained in his book Beyond IQ (1985). I am Autistic.

Should be said that while typical brains stop developing at around 25, neurodivergant brains might not stop developing until 35.

It used to be said that someone who had trouble 'getting' things was dense. But actually, because of all the extra dendrites, (connections) The more dense brain is the smarter brain.
