I still return to this song every now and then, and each time it makes me feel so emotional yet uplifted. Not only because the song itself is beautiful, but because so many people came together just to unearth a song that most wouldn’t even give a second glance. The story of HLWIT is one that I will always keep in the back of my mind, even if I discovered it after it had already been found. It’s a great anecdote to the triumph of man, spending 16 years just looking for an obscure piece of music and finding it in insanely convoluted yet clever way. Paula is an excellent singer, and I can’t imagine how happy she must’ve felt when she heard the news that so many people were searching for her music. Whoever posted the original snippet, if they’re even still on the internet, I hope has found some closure.
