It is an acute problem. The problem with an acute problem is when left untreated it starts to become a bigger problem. Now, this ball of pus will get encapsulated. It is now it will change into another condition called as a chalazion. It will also come from a different gland altogether. These are some of the situations that it can get prolonged. But by rubbing your eye you would have broken that stye. If that does not happen you will have to come to a doctor’s office where with a little anaesthesia we will take a little knife and make a little cross over it so that we can drain that pus out. Very often the stye comes in more than one location. That is where we will go to the next stage, and that is first trying to find out where did it come from and second how can we treat it better that it should not recur.

Hand hygiene is the only solution

Actually what I noticed is we forget to wash our hands after picking our nose and after some time we inadvertently rub our eyes with the same hand and next day puuufff we get a eye stye.

Wash your hand before touching your eyes....make it a you won't get it again.
