I know I commented on your previous kindle video about how much I love my kindle but I have to admit that I also love reading on my tablet. I know it’s silly but I love looking at all the beautiful covers in my “library” lol. Also, the responsiveness is nice when taking notes and highlighting passages.

I went from Kindle to tablet and back to the Kindle. I probably won't go back to the tablet. Here are my reasons.

1. The Kindle is better for reading in different lighting conditions. It doesn't have glare or washout in sunlight and it's easier to read in bed without keep my wife up.
2. The lack of connectivity. Whenever I read on my phone or tablet, it's too easy to get distracted. On the Kindle it's so much easier to focus on the book.
3. Size. I love how small the Kindle is. It's so easy to read with one hand or to fit in a pocket.
4. Waterproof. I read out by the water a lot. not having to worry about someone splashing me is nice.
5. Battery life is just better on the Kindle

I think you missed two important points:
*Battery life
*Reading in the sunlight

965 views??? Seriously YouTube upgrade this channel. This is the best video I've seen today about iPad that is not full of biased ads and that doesn't just talk about useless tech processors names.

Bought my first Kindle paperwhite today. I think each is to their own strength. I enjoy reading on my Google pixel 6 Pro due to the size of the screen when on the go but then being able to read on my work lunch or at my home on my Kindle. So far I think the Kindle paperwhite has been a more pleasant experience.

The points mentioned in ease of use are things i can relate to. I read on my phone in an app called readera. The flexibility and quickness of loading books is undeniable

I have an iPad and I read on it but I want the kindle because it’s more portable and the battery life is made for you to keep reading I can’t bring my iPad to school or out anywhere I also feel like I get distracted with the games and other things on my iPad

I also have an Ipad air and a kindle paperwhite. I use my paper white when out about. But I use my air pad air when I'm home. I put a glare free screen protector over it and made the setting warmer, perfect 😁

I find that the iPad Mini is a great happy medium, especially the latest generation one. Small enough to hold with one hand and read like the Kindle, and also doubles up as the "all-in-one" device where I can text, watch Netflix, play Chess, etc.

I have been looking for a comparison of reading on an iPad vs Kindle. I have an iPad Pro 2018 and I recently bought a paperlike screen-protector which has an anti-glare. Reading on my iPad Pro no longer puts a strain on my eyes. I needed someone who has the experience of both. Hence I am happy that I came across your review. Thank you for the excellent review!

I love how you convince yourself to use ipad but you'll end up going to watch youtube, scrolling social media.

Good points made about both.
I do think it's good to put the app on your computer as well, if nothing else as an "emergency" backup access method. It is also useful for certain reference material you may need to look at, or perhaps to examine/make notes.
I do put the app on my phone as another backup though rarely use it to read. Travel related reference can be good on a phone. As an aside, although not Kindle I put AAA Tour Books on my phone by using cloud service, OneDrive in my case (make sure to set these for offline use, just in case).
Thanks for the video.

I've been looking into an e-reader for awhile because of my limited space in my room. I love physical books and the experience but I've been researching lately and I'm totally thinking of buying a Kindle to read books 📚

I found out that for 90% of my use the kindle is perfect, the only time I feel like an ipad is better is when I'm reading graphic novels and I want to appreciate the artwork.

This video has a really nice chill vibe. The music certainly helps and you narrate your videos in such a laid back way. I love your content. Regarding your presentation: I do like how you differentiated the reading styles presented by both devices and also brought up eye strain and blue light NOT being as much of an issue for you since you do not read for hours on end. I wonder what your take is on night shift, I think it's called. Macs can shift their color temperature and I think my iPad Pro can do the same. This can drastically reduce blue light and, in theory, eye strain. I used to read books a lot more, but something changed in the past couple of years and I've actually read few to no books lately. It's really quite sad and I wish I could pick up a beautifully written novel, sit back, relax, and enjoy it for hours while sipping on a favorite beverage. Anyway, thanks again for your awesome work. By the way, I subscribed to your emails but haven't seen any come through yet besides the welcome email. Not sure what the frequency on your newsletter is. Might need to revisit your website to see if you state it there. All the best to you.

This is the video I have been waiting for or searching for. I have an old Kindle and was thinking of upgrading to new Kindle. I also have an iPad Pro with Kindle app on it. Was confused. It’s always feels good to have the opinion double confirmed by someone. Made up my mind now.. It’s iPad Pro with Kindle App on it. I don’t read a lot in a day (Couple of hours) so one device which can be used for media consumption and reading .I.e. iPad.

And Subscribed. Content is too good.

I never realized there was a rule feature in the ipad app as that would be a big help for me as my atigmatism can make tracking across lines a bit hard. I actually prefer reading on eletronic devices to paper books because I an inrease the line spacing which makes it easier to track across lines. Generally, I prefer reading on the kindle. I find the kindle easier to use with one hand while laying on my siide I've had a kindle keyboard, voyager, and oasis, so each had page turn buttons on the side. I prefer turning the pages with the buttons vs the touch screen. The oasis is also waterproof so I an use it while floating in my pool. Its also easier to carry the kindle in my purse. I like the ipad for cookbooks and reference type books, , PDFS, and knitting patterns. I have an cient 7" galaxy tab, and I use that for reading books I get on hoopla.

Thank you so much for this video Nick. So glad I came across it having bought a kindle oasis thinking it would make me read more it spent most of last year in a drawer gathering dust. Whilst I appreciate an e-reader will always be better screen for reading and eye strain for like £100+ for a paperwhite or £200+ for an oasis would rather put that money towards a new iPad. Far more responsive, plus with a non reflective screen protector, true tone and night shift and the ability to turn on do not disturb going to try out the kindle app for a bit. I was thinking of buying a paperwhite thinking that with the touch screen and better form factor might be better than the oasis realised I already have a good touch screen. Your video really helped a lot going to try the kindle app before rushing into another e-reader that again will go to live in a drawer.
