In this youtube short, I show you why I prefer the ipad mini to read my ebooks as opposed to the kindle paperwhite. Even though the kindle paperwhite is lighter, it is lacking in the speed category.

Drop a like, subscribe to the channel, and comment which one you'd get.

Thanks,
Jack

I’m cool with the delays because kindle doesn’t strain my eyes. Reading for extended periods on your iPad will strain your eyes.

A kindle is also way cheaper than an iPad. A kindle is waterproof. A kindle has way better battery life. I'm going Kindle, all day every day.

I still prefer my paperwhite due to the fact it’s light, battery last forever, and there’s no notifications. And the sink screen just works for my eyes. Currently have the new kindle paperwhite and basic

I prefer my iPad as well. I have a paper like screen protector with reduced glare, there is a warm setting for less eye strain, you are able to highlight. The iPad is an overall win I my opinion. So much customization is available. For the ones saying no notifications there is a thing called Do Not Disturb.

But once you’re on the actual book, the speed of flipping the pages is the same as the iPad you showed. And besides, if you’re reading a book, why are you in such a terrible hurry?

The Kindle has power for a month. The Ipad will only last a few hours. Also there is no glare on the Kindle.

Its a eink device it works differently so there is bound to be lag... kindle is made for reading books not watching videos or gaming

Open the book though. Once the book is open the speed is the same. This comparison is nonsense.

I have the same Kindle and I prefer it over my iPad. Both are great for reading but I’ll take the Paperwhite for reading a novel any day.

After getting my Kindle, I became an avid daily reader. That never happened after getting an iPad.

Two defining reasons for me
1- battery life
2- no glare or rarely any glare anywhere I go

The refresh rate is intentionally slow in order to extend the battery life. I also used my iPad mini from 2012 for reading but it just got to be too much for my eyes. Also the battery life on an iPad mini (even with airplane mode on) doesn’t hold a candle to the Kindle Paperwhite. Since purchasing my kindle I haven’t looked back and it’s just an overall more pleasant experience for me. You do you though ☺️

Kindle paperweight. No refresh rate problem.

Changing the pages on a kindle is close to instant, that’s really all that matters. You navigate to find another book once a week? Kindle trumps iPad everyday for reading and saving your eyes.

Do not make new videos please people are not buying kindles for response speed

Two different types of displays. Yes the iPad is going to have a significantly higher refresh rate, as it can do many more things than a kindle can do.

A kindle is not meant for scrolling. You flick the screen. All you will really be doing on it is pressing on the right side of the screen to turn a page. It’s slow, because the technology behind it is meant to keep you from straining your eyes so you can read for very long periods of time.

The kindle, is a way better option in my opinion. Especially since I read a lot.

Yeah I prefer my eyesight not to be blind so I'm ok with the delays.

Delay is not a problem, page swiping is fast

you dont actually read if you’re willing to sacrifice the eye strain of lcd over eink because page flipping is a split second longer what a dumb video

It pisses me off whenever i hear people complain about e-ink devices being slow comparing to their phones and tablets. Learn the tech, will you! And besides, the Kindle you have there is old. It’s a 2018 model.
