I was using a tablet or my phone for the longest time to read, noticing at times my eyes strain can get worse since I read for long periods. So I got a Kindle. The difference is amazing. No distractions, hardly any eye strain, and I'm much more interested in reading vs going on YT or socials.

I love reading on my phone, there are times when novels are only available in webs and cannot be downloaded
But it's a thousand times easier on the eyes to use an ebook, it helps you focus completely on the book without distracting you or tempting with social media or other webs.

My very first kindle’s a kindle touch and i still have it and still love it♥️. It was a gift from my mom. I think it’s already 10 yrs old.

I’m an avid reader and have an ipad mini 6th gen and don’t let the apps and everything else distract me. I just put it on airplane mode and read until it dies 😂 I also had the ipad mini 2nd gen and 5th gen as well! I used to have a kobo YEARS ago and didn’t like it one bit. Idk the ipad has worked for me for years now. Also when I don’t WANT to read I just connect it to Wi-Fi and use the apps and everything it has to offer 💪

i read with my tablet, it's alright but very bulky and(a bit) heavy. great for read on commute until the sun hits you while being on a cramped train 😢 I'm finally purchasing a kindle! so excited

I really wish the kindle had speakers/headphone jack for listening to audiobooks. The backlight on the kindle is SO much more comfortable. Would be the absolute perfect device

Got a kindle paperwhite originally, then got a android eink tablet. Yes the eink android tablet can load other "distracting apps" but it's only a problem if you don't have even a modicom of self control. Both are great devices tho. Eink is just so much nicer on the eyes.

An actual Kindle also allows you to have the narrowest margins under the "Layout" setting. The text runs in about a two inch wide column. You can read faster with narrow margins. Neither the iPad nor the Kindle App, generally, have this slim of a margin even at the most extreme setting.

After using the kindle for about 2 or more years, I would say it does the job but isn't better than a phone or tablet as it can't use color and the interface is extremely slow, even for opening simple books, takes about 5 seconds to load a 100 page book and the delay when you turn a page is insane

Hmmmm…. I have been using an iPad with Kindle app for years and just purchased the newest gen iPad Pro 12.9. I have no issues, including eye strain while reading for hours on end on my iPad, but was curious if there were any advantages to just using a smaller Kindle device. Honestly, I don’t see any.
