As a Aerospace Machinist, you get more repeatability with a click style rather than a old school torque

Because you don't need to be perpendicular to and perfectly aligned with the gauge end while using it, unlike the old school one, where being out of line gives you large parallax error

Click types are fine if treated well, don't drop it, never have dropped mine and it works excellent, I like the beam type for certain things

I have built in torque specs in my hands. I click sounds with my mouth to confirm it is properly torqued. Never had a single failure. Meanwhile, torque wrenches that are out of adjustment have broken bolts.

If you only need a torque wrench that shows you a rough estimate, go for it.

But the most hilariuos thing wold be to see, how you look at the scale while torquing a lugnut on a car that is standing on the ground.
