State farm horrible! They always try to pay for a repair! But eventually they will pay for a whole roof!

Thank you so much for this video, I help run a company in Alabama and can count on one hand how many claims I've had approved by both companies. In those cases it was failure to show up to appointments, social media calling out the company and half claim where the company claimed they weren't responsible for 51% of the roof (3% for every year of age) due to a "roof payment schedule". Honestly some insurance companies are modern day scammers

There are several ways to get this roof bought. I do it all of the time. You just have to know how to play the game. That’s my wheelhouse. Im happy to send you my CV. I recently came across your channel and have thoroughly enjoyed all of the great content. Im happy to chat with you about it. I feel like it’s the least I can do seeing that I have learned so much from this channel. Completely on the house. I want great roofers to do well. It’s sad to see terrible roofers that know how to play the insurance game get the roof approved and then do a terrible install job. I see it all of the time.

I've done work for All State in Buffalo NY, and they made sure to certify that we didn't have nails in the seams and used started strips. The inspector literally came up on every roof we did to make sure as we were installing. For repairs, I'm not sure how this works, especially if they didn't do the work.

Seems like insurance companies run in cycles (I've been doing this for about 25 years). Step 1 (typically during a large weather event) - provide good service, pay properly when other insurance companies are looking to shed customers/save money by doing the opposite. This will increase the number of insureds as they switch insurance companies. Continue step 1 until you are over exposed. Step 2 (typically during another large weather event) - shed customers/exposure by denying claims/paying out poorly. Wait until exposure drops below max level/repeat step one. I've seen several insurance companies run this cycle, so it probably depends at which point in the cycle you are making a claim to what the perception is as if they are 'good' or 'bad'. In regard to SF, my experience is that they pay out poorly in small events where they have local adjusters running claims, but in a large event they release their cat. team which is far more likely to just pay claims.

I got Allstate to approve a full roof replacement for an older home with asbestos shingles. Not only are they paying for an enviroshake shingles to be installed which are very expensive, they also paid for an abatement company to remove and dispose of the asbestos shingles . They are paying out 49k for the job ! And they approved the payment fairly easily !

My neighbor has SF. He neglected his roof for many years. He said he was going to file a claim and I said good luck with that. Finally had a local roofing Co and SF agent out to investigate claim. The 1st Co didn't get roof bought. He had a friend who was in the business tell him he could 💯 get the roof bought and did. Not sure how they did it but he did tell him to prepare to get another insurance Co. 🤔

State farm is absolutely a pain in the neck. If a roof is wind damaged they only want to cover the cost to repair not completely replace

We had 3 shingles off our 20 year old roof in windstorm and liberty mutual replaced the whole roof for us……

They should pay for a total replacement but no doubt they'll only offer repair. Do you have any recommendations on any insurance companies worth a shhh?? Lemme know please!!

Looks like an old roof thats already past its useful life. I wouldn't expect insurance to pay for anything.

Prior repairs all over that. In reality that carrier should replace that roof, and then get rid of the customer if they don't like it. However, it would serve the customer perfectly if carrier just wanted a per shingle repair. Clearly that has been the homeowner's approach to maintaining their own roof for years. The homeowner is obviously OK with spot repairs. If the homeowner is fine with repairs, why is the carrier bad for offering the same approach? In the end, it is the carrier's fault for insuring a garbage roof.

Itel doesn't always do a good job for 3 tab shingles since they are so hard to track due to the common dimensions. NTS report might help you if you're familiar. With that being said, Statefarm will probably request a repair video. We fought hard for this one customer doing inspections, re-inspections, repair videos, and another virtual inspection with Statefarm for a wind damage claim and finally got it approved in the end. Definitely worth it for the customer, unfortunately took forever and a lot of trips which made it less favorable for us. Still see it as a win especially against Statefarm. Just know this claim could be dragged out for a long time.

I believe that’s a Tamco glass seal elite three tab in the color Weatherwood. If so, that color is now discontinued if made in the Joplin branch. They continue to manufacture in other branches, but there is a do not mix letter for it.

I’ve gotten two Claims, bought because of that Discontinued Shingle, and one still denied by Statefarm …

If I lived in Indiana I'd be willing to be your videographer!! I have experience with taking photos of roofs for the roofing company that I work for here in Maryland. Not so much recording videos but that's very easy 😂

Who do you recommend for ins. carrier sir?

Just to add on to my first comment. After five years on a shingle roof no insurance coverage on wind damage. They are a cheap product to all the other products out here now.

Widespread wind damage probably should be warranted for a full replacement. Repairability is a dead end for State Farm wouldn’t even try to go down that road unless you’re able to withstand a headache. Argue reasonable consistent appearance, their policy owes for that. Again, it depends on the adjuster. Good luck!
