If you decide to try to settle your storm damage claim on your own, I will give you 10 tips on how to handle a storm damage claim.

I do not recommend trying to settle storm damage with the insurance company if you have more than $10,000.00 in damage for a number of reasons.

Storm damage in Florida is widespread and it includes:

-Hurricanes
-Thunderstorms
-Heavy rains
-Lightning
-Tornadoes
-Tropical Storms

Here are a few tips I talk about in this video on Storm Damage Claims:

1. ESTIMATE
a. Look over insurance company’s estimate
b. Use your contractor’s estimate
c. Include items like Moving Contents, Hazardous waste

2. Personal Property
a. Replacement cost vs. Actual Cash Value

3. Roof Involvement
a. Square Footage correct?
b. Florida 25% rule
c. Roofing contractor estimates

If you have any type of storm damage give me a call if you need help....

Getting screwed by twia right now. The field adjuster said new roof. What he submitted to twia says only to replace 10 shingles. Fighting it right now.

You're a very informant civilian dealer with the project now. That's how it's been flooded by the sum pump shooting in the breaker. Overloaded the sum pump cut off I found the claim today

We had a lightning strike on our property. It was right near our front gated entrance. After the strike the gates don’t work. The insurance company sent out some guy from Strike Check. He said “well, there is power to it”. Does that mean he’s going to tell my insurance company that it was not lightning damage??what to do if my claim denied for that?

Had a claim for a roof about 6 months ago. Insurance only wanted to repair 3 sides of roof. Couldn't get them to repair the other 4 smaller sides. Insurance sent a small check. Now I've had damage from storm which I had to remove tree debris, cut branches, remove tree from AC unit, and there was damage to roof from raccoon. Should I file another claim or a supplemental clam.

What if there was some damage before the hurricane but was made worse or exacerbated by the hurricane? I just went through Hurricane Beryl just one week ago and I live in the Houston Texas area. I already had some deterioration of the siding and exterior trim but was made worse by the hurricane. In fact, one whole section of siding was ripped off by the powerful winds of Hurricane Beryl. I'm a little afraid that the insurance company is going to try to tell me that because my siding was in poor condition before the storm, they will not cover the cost of replacing it and they will not cover any water damage caused by the storm. I'm afraid of them telling me that because I was "irresponsible" by not replacing the siding sooner, that they will not cover the storm damage.

PA's, turning a 12k roof into a 99k roof for their own profit. Making insurance rates go up one claim at a time!
