The audacity of a man who's never done a job telling a man who does it everyday, that he is wrong, is mind-blowing 😂

I’m a HAAG certified roofing inspector. This adjuster has lost his mind. Clearly he doesn’t have the proper training or expertise to perform his job properly. Great job on the roofers willingness to go to bat for the homeowner

Like a good neighbor, State Farm don’t care!

I love the fact that he keeps saying he won’t tell you how to do your job, but keeps telling you you’re doing it wrong and won’t show you the right way to do it.

As a roofer for 16 years this man has the patience of a saint for not throwing that insurance guy off to the ground

The roofer literally said, “I don’t care about the check, you can go with another roofing company, I literally don’t care. But give this guy a fair adjustment, don’t do him like that.” Idk where this roofing company is or who the workers were, but they deserve all the business in the world.

Sir, the amount of patience you displayed is extraordinary. I also am a professional craftsman and I could never have been that "nice" to a man with zero knowledge or experience telling me how to do my job. He may have found himself permanently grounded. And it makes me so proud to see a pro look out for the homeowners.

The roofer is a really stand up guy to fight for the home owner

I am so glad this was filmed. For way too long insurance adjusters have gotten over on homeowners, especially when it comes to roof damage.

“I’m not here to tell you how to do it, I’m here to find a reason to deny the claim”

I am also Haag Certified and I’ve been an adjuster for 21 years. For 20 years before I became an adjuster I was a builder and have installed and repaired hundreds of roofs. The issued that everyone seems to be missing here is that the repairability of this roof has nothing to do with the pliability or the “BT”. This roof is in fact, not repairable. But it is extremely pliable and would pass a brittle test without a problem. The reason these shingles are not individually repairable is because the shingles have been worn thin due to age and have become fragile and no longer have the strength to withstand nails being pulled out without causing damage to adjacent shingles. I respect the roofing contractor for advocating for the insured, but he’s using the wrong argument. He’s arguing that the roof is not pliable and would not pass a brittle test, but he needs to argue that the shingles are extraordinarily pliable because they have become so thin and fragile due to age. Shingles being firmly adhered, and not allowing tabs to be lifted or fragile shingles that are thin due to age are equal or more legitimate explanations for why shingles cannot be individually repaired.

The adjuster in this case is obviously inexperienced, but he’s not in the business of ripping people off. The more damage he pays for on this house the more money he will make. It is extraordinarily rare for insurance companies to intentionally underpay claims. Here in Florida litigation is a very real and every day occurrence and insurance companies make pretty strong efforts to avoid that. His roofing contractor is correct that if this goes to an attorney, the carrier will not only owe the roof but legal fees also. This kid would love to pay for the roof and State Farm would love to avoid litigation in this matter, but is inexperience is getting in the way, frankly, the roofing contractor’s argument regarding pliability is not helping him either. He needs to school the adjuster and change the argument. Quit with obsessing about pliability. These shingles are super pliable… because they are worn thin and have lost their bond, so they can be lifted easily. However, they don’t have the strength to withstand even gentle attempts to individually remove nails

"Use another company if have to, but give this man a fair adjustment" damn. What a stand up guy right there.

That roofer guys was a boss. Super intelligent, kind and compassionate. The insurance dude - a total POS and manifestation of the corporate greed that is destroying America.

I believe this is the textbook example of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. God i love tradesmen. Im a handyman/carpenter who's done my fair share of roofing...but id never tell this fella how to roof haha. What an absolute boss.

As a contractor of over 20 years that roof looks beyond repair. State Farm is just trying to find away NOT to pay. That is the worst adjuster I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of them
