I swear, this is the type of film Michael Bay's spent all his career trying to make.

You will ride eternal - shiny and chrome. Nux's face, the acting, perfectly captures his devotion to the whole War Boys cult. One of my favorite moments of the movie.

Imagine the soul crushing depression when you're getting a mission from your God, only to fail right in front of him. Nux's character arc through the movie was so amazing!

the part where joe flips his truck trying not to run over angharid is such good characterization. making a villain whose ultimate goal is "healthy babies" made for such a surprising moment.

One of the innumerable things I love about this movie is how much personality even the nameless, essentially faceless random henchmen have. That one shotgun-carrying War Boy who tells Rictus to go easy on the flamethrower because he'll damage the boss's property, and then throws himself in front of Furiosa's bullets to save Immortan Joe. No name, six words of dialogue, and 10 seconds of screentime, but we know that he's clearly respected to ride enough on the Boss's car - and tell his musclebound ogre son to cool it- and devoted enough to lay his life down for his leader. That's almost an entire character arc. This movie is a masterpiece.

I love when Max gets his hand caught behind the wheel- his expression conveys just how painful it is, but he's totally silent, fitting in with how little he talks.

2:43 if you watch closely you can actually see that the guy on the left side of the monster truck falls off and goes under the wheels. I think they filmed that stunt with dummies but it's still cool that the guy on the left is then missing in the subsequent scenes. It's that kind of attention to detail that makes this movie special

i love that the music that plays as Nux goes for his blaze of glory gets abruptly cut off when he trips and falls. it's the same theme that plays when he does eventually sacrifice himself - but in that one, it is carried to completion. his sacrifice was always inevitable. it just wasn't to be made here, and not for Joe's glory but to defeat him.

Can we stop and give the guy playing Nux some major props. Look at him while Immortan tells him he's awaited in Valhala. He's on the verges of happy tears.

As evil as Immortan might be, there is an element of sadness saying "look out", then flipping his car.

For those who said this film lacked story:
Splendid being the favorite has Immortan Joe's symbols etched into the side of her face. She's also placed on a higher pedestal than the other wives, which makes her feel inadequate when she can't load the gun. She then uses the one thing she has over Joe to shield Furiosa and bring a temporary stop to this madness, his unborn child. The War boys are constantly hanging on the door that ultimately leads to Splendid's death. The chain that bounded Nux and Max is the very thing that stops Nux from completing his murderous task.
This would be pages of dialogue in another director's hands, which makes Miller's visual storytelling even more impressive!

After watching so many other movies and games that include ruthless raiders who just kill each other over the smallest things, It's really refreshing that Immortan Joe actually listens to Nux's idea and (sorta) let's him follow through with it. In fact, he even hands him a gun and sprays him in the face with chrome to show he approved of his decision. Other raider leaders would likely put down an underling for speaking out of place, or execute them for thinking they were in charge. Or even kill them after they've failed, which Joe doesn't in response to Nux tripping and dropping the gun. But the fact that Nux could trust that the Boss wouldn't shoot him down shows that these henchmen aren't motivated by fear of execution, but by a genuine desire to follow their leader. It's as heartwarming as bloodthirsty, murderous marauders can get in post-apocalyptic fiction.

Rest in peace Hugh Keays-Byrne, ride eternal, shiny and chrome.

I love that nod and thumbs up from Max, a glimpse of humanity, a small gesture but Hardy sells it.

The shots of Immortan Joe's driving with his face illuminated and the wind in his hair are almost kind of majestic, in a scuffed way.

This movie gave me chills so many times. . . The director really knows how to grab the audience

Hands down, these are the greatest chase scenes ever put together in a film to date.
