I've seen this movie many times now, and the part with the horn and the music kicking in still gives me shivers.

According to Wikipedia the sound designer read the script and equated Furiosa's war rig to Moby Dick and Immortan Joe to Ahab. So he mixed whale sounds with the horn as well as the sounds it makes when it leaks fluid as well as the sounds of a bear growling when the war rig is finally destroyed.

So for those wondering, after some research, the only horns that exist irl that sound close to this are the musical fog horns on cruise liners. Look up seven nation army ship horn for reference.
