Arduino Tachometer Readout Using Arduino IDE and the A3144 Hall Sensor

preview_player
Показать описание
Showing the handheld setup for the Arduino tachometer using a hall sensor (A3144) and a neodymium magnet. This DC fan has an advertised RPM of 3000, and we’re reading about 3400 RPM, which is not too bad. It’s likely that either our power supply is a little higher than 5V, or the inherent error in fan production causes the fan speeds to vary slightly.

Tested and works fairly well. Thank You for sharing

2 suggestions for improvement:
- Make a interrupt service routine to store the timestamp on a FALLING sensor pin if the time is a minimum treshold before the previous moment to prevent registration of bounces.
- Remove the resistor and enable the input-pullup resistor for an easier design.
