I moved out of California in November 2020 with a kid in 8th grade. Like this caller I had many reasons to leave CA. I moved to New York State. I am so much happier and my son is too cause life is better for us. If my son had the choice he would have said he didn’t want to leave California but he wouldn’t know any different. He has lots of new friends:)

Eventually with more and more people leaving CA this state actually might turn out ok. I live here and am sticking it out through my career. Rather than run to the next soon to be overpopulated state I’d prefer to stay in a state that may be less populated soon. If things don’t change I may change my mind but it is still very possible to make it in CA. Never move just for taxes.

I know this video is a year old (just popped up for me tho) but here in 2023, "should you leave California" is a question that only each individual can answer for themselves. I've lived in Arizona and now Tennessee and i'll tell you right now, housing is insanely expensive because of all of us who left CA, most businesses refuse to increase wages, so with the exception of somewhat lower cost of living, less taxes and more freedoms (if you're pro-gun basically) then it's really no better then most parts of California.

A company in California was paying me 80k and then moved to AZ for the SAME EXACT POSITION/COMPANY and they only paid me 48k which was garbage, and now in TN with a new company, they're only paying 50k so I'm stuck finding new work which if Im super lucky, this new spot toward Knoxville will pay me 65-75k and THEN I can finally rent my own apartment but still a long way from ever affording a house remotely close to a city.

culture flips the biblical dynamic of the household... the husband gives himself for HIS WIFE, as Christ gave himself for the Church. Parents are the PRIDE OF THEIR CHILDREN, not the other way around. Kids look up to their parents, parents should not exalt their kids above their spouse; when this happens, it creates a narcissistic adult child, who thinks the world revovles around them, not growing up in the audience of a biblical display of love, through his/her own parents.
