I was never the biggest Star Trek fan, but man did I love the look of the ships.
This Enterprise looks great, I always thought the Saucer separation was so cool.

As a kid, I had this Enterprise-D mold back in either 1992 or 1993.

Two things: It should be bigger to match the scale of the TOS Enterprise toy (but I guess it would have to be 4x larger!) and there's no battle bridge on the secondary hull where the saucer separates. Otherwise, pretty cool toy...

This does look lovely. The lack of paint under the primary hull is a really shame.

First off nice review! I just got mine I'm not crazy about the separation plane and lack of battle bridge detail just being plain flat plastic...they didn't even try painting a top battle bridge section or anything. I wish it looked a little more like the show is all and yes a warp sound would have made it better.

Which do you like the best ? The original series or the D model. Im planning on getting only one but im trying to decide between the two .

They could have added a secondary internal rechargeable battery, or at least a Super Capacitor, to the saucer section. That would have fixed the lighting.

Did your 2023 one stay lit after you toggled it to on? My lights go off after about 20 seconds. I did switch the batteries out, still the same thing.

Is that how it's supposed to work, or does it sound like I got a defective product?

Great review! I have the NCC-1701 (thanks in no small part to your review) so I'm definitely getting this! Looks like a local Target may have it, so I might go on an excursion today :-) I still have (somewhere) the Playmates Enterprise E from when First Contact came out. It's probably in a box with some Transformers keeping it company :-D

Shuttlebay 2 and 3 have the same size in this model. This made the 1995 model better. At first I also thought that the separable saucer would be a good idea, but the implementation is questionable. Without the saucer, the ship looks really creepy. On the one hand it's a shame, but on the other hand you get a relatively faithful 1701 D over 30 years after the series. You probably can't expect much more than that...

It doesn’t match the box pic with the lights on and paint. It’s disappointing.
