Star Trek: The Playmates 1992 Enterprise D

Hello and welcome to my show and tell for the 1992 release of the Enterprise D from Playmates. This past September saw the re-release of the Enterprise D with lighting updates and some cosmetic changes. Unfortunately they are INCREDIBLY scarce at the time of filming, with scalping leaches ebaying them for twice their prices. I'll rant about that later in the video, but lets take a look at this well represented 1992 Enterprise D!

The Playmates toys were such a big part of my Star Trek fandom in the 90's. They were everywhere and I had so much fun collecting them. The Enterprise was the first one I remember getting. 🖖

Back in the day, I bought three of the 1992 D's because I love the Galaxy class that much; still have them too. I also like their sound effect set the most out of all of the Playmates Trek ships. Long live the Galaxy class!

I have this and the Klingon Vor'cha one. My wife got them for me back in the 90s. My ships are perfect but the boxes and contents are long gone..well most of the box..rats ate part of it in storage.

Great video. Agree with your rant. I waited and picked one up at Target for $39.99. They had two others and seems to have had a few in stock for the last few weeks. I love the lighting effect on the new one but lacks some detail of the 1992 version.

I'm so sad I had this model along with a lot of others but lost them all in a house fire

I had the one that converted into the D update with 3rd nacelle and the ion canon under the saucer section

Hi I'm in the UK and I'm a collector of startrek figures. I don't have either the old or new enterprise at the moment I found It easy to get the 2022 startrek figures! The prodigy figures arrived here in August this year. I've only managed to get hold of two of them in which I paid £16 with postage. and know every where is out of stock but you mentioned about the Amazon scalpers I've been then the Amazon webb site and the other two figures I want where on there site for £44.00 and £61.00 ! At least know they have been removed from the site. Amazon in the UK has the new enterprise D on there site for £47.66 at the moment of my text for 27 October delivery.

Believe it or not, but I have this very version of the Enterprise. And no this Enterprise didn´t have a stand. The once that came with a stand have been the Enterprise D models from from generations. Not the TNG version.

Try over here in Europe everything I used to buy for cheap is now over priced.
Example I smoke Phillips cigars and in the states they cost $2.89 over here it's €23.67 😒
The constitution class refit had aft torpedoes also two of the phaser cannons could shoot towards the aft section but not directly behind it unlike the torpedoes.

I have this one, but with no stand. 2nd hand, of course. Wish I had it new, but I had no idea they did this one at the time.
